Default my appointment at the Lou Ruvo/Clevenland Clinic Brain Center in Las Vegas

Hi guys

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I had nade my first neuro appointment in 6 years and was able to get to see a doc at the Lou Ruvo / Clevenland Clinic brain center. I have to say its a smooth operation. From the second you walk in the door they are 100% present and anticipating what their patients might need. I was very impressed. (first, let me say I have been diagnosed with MS since I was 30)

The doctor I met with a young woman, took about an hour with me. Listened, explained, was very present and for a neuro (lol) she was untypically empathetic.

Because they are not on my ins list of providers every appointment and every test has to be pre-approved. Kindof a pain and a time eater, but they are on that too.

Now the part that always makes me uneasy. Because of the events in my life the last 10 years, I don't have a lot of my old records. The last MRI I had (which I brought with me) happen to not have lesions that time. So guess what......we all know what she said...... "maybe its not MS" ..... mind you, I've had all the MS bigs....optic neuritis, spinal fluid with O-bands, transverse myelitis, foot drop, nystigmus, first MRI at 30 with a dozen lesions, and on and on. But why do they always go there? It freaks me out.....in the practical sense. what if...it affects my social security, my health insurance, etc. or what if .... who knows. She did her exam...poking, walking, tipping over lol, all the usual things so

She was very very nice and very caring, I really have only the best things to say about my experience there so we will see. On the very upside, they have free therapy with a social worker, free yoga classes, physical therapy (which they are trying to get approval for from my ins co.) and the best little peppermints at the reception desk I took a handful. Any one here in Neuro land every go to the Cleveland Clinic?

Thanks for listening...just wanted to share that experience with you. Happy to answer any questions!

Default and even better....the lovely doctor just called

so sweet...she just called to let me know she had looked further at the MRI's I brought (the ones with no lesions) and she said upon further exam she feels that there are lesions consistent with MS and she didn't want to leave me further confused and unsettled with vague information. Now that's a really good doctor. Even more impressed. Things are looking up!
