Default Questions about after Spinal Tap

I still haven't got my results yet...

I did have some questions though. I haven't had a headache, and after the horrendous pain from that spinal tap shots - I have just felt exhausted. I'm not one to drink caffeine, but the doctor suggested I drink it this week, so I am. Been almost a year since I had caffeine, so yesterday I had some Coca-Cola, and I'm drinking Dr Pepper today :P

Now, I'm so glad that I don't have that terrible headache I've heard of people having after a ST, but does it happen immediately after the ST or after a few days? I started earlier today feeling a small one coming on, but it's kind of eased out when I started drinking my Dr Pepper.

I was in a lot of pain before the ST, but when they did the ST - the pain shifted lol from the pain before to the needle in my back haha.

Last night also - I had some weird crazy dreams. I mean crazy. My body also went from extreme hot to extreme cold, on and off - which after I woke up this morning I was ok. Most of the day today I have just felt so tired, and exhausted - but not sleepy. I know I can take estazolam at 2mg, and it will knock me out for a good 8-12 hours. I hate laying in my bed staring at the ceiling - tired but can't sleep.

I tell you the only thing I was thinking after that spinal tap was Thank God it was over.

Can you tell me your experiences after your spinal tap - and what I should be aware of? How many days does some side effects last--

I would get headaches for about a week or so after ST, but laying
flat, no pillow, for about 10 min. would make it fade.

I hope you will feel better soon now.

The really nasty headache usually shows up within a couple of hours. Like Sally said, the other headaches can come and go for a week or so.

Pain at the injection site varies, but usually hits a peak for me at day two or three and then goes away.

Hope that you get some sleep without the meds.

When are you supposed to get the results?

In my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

With love, Erika
