Well it's now come to the point where I have to take a sick leave.
I worked an 8hr shift Friday and a 3hr shift of Saturday. It was such a struggle to walk even with my cane. When I was at work yesterday I felt like just collapsing, I couldn't take another step. Now just contemplating if I should just go to the ER, since I can't walk anymore. It feels like its more than foot drop. I'm totally frustrated now, will be calling the neuro first thing in the morning and telling them my situation. Don't know what the hospital can do for me if I go. |

That is not welcome news
![]() Could you have an infection of some sort that is making your symptoms worse? The hospital might be able to check for that. Often some of us find out tin the end that a bladder or other type of infection brings our inflammation up and so our symptoms get worse. Hope that you feel better soon. Sending hugs, well wishes and prayers that you do. With love, Erika |

The notorious UTI always does this to me. I can tell just by the worsening of my MS symptoms that I have one before any of the classic UTI symptoms appear.
I hope they check this first.....and save you a lot of guesswork and grief. I get immediate relief after just the first does of the antibiotic.

(((((MHM))))), I am so sorry.
![]() to the ER is not a bad idea. Make sure you don't have a UTI or other infection, before letting them give you steroids. ![]()

I doubt there is much the ER can do so it is probably smart to wait and call your neuro. I really hope you feel better soon.

I don't know how old you are or how close to retirement age but I had to 'retire' at the ripe old age of 49. Best thing that ever happened to me. I am so much healthier now than I was then because I don't have the hecticness and worry of work and having to juggle work, home life, Mom, wife, daughter. With work out I was me.
Luckily I had long term disability where I worked while I was waiting for all my disability work to go through and be accepted. So I never went without a paycheck. Now it wasn't the same kind of check I was getting while I was working but all the same it was a paycheck. I have checked some salary websites and I would be making at least $30/hour if I were still working. I started out at $3.75 as an RN!!! When I quit I was making $19/hour and that enough blew my mind.

if you can't speak to the neuro you might have to consider the er.
if you can't walk, that's more serious. i was in nursing and tried to work as long as i could. it got to the point that i couldn't walk the halls anymore or do 12 hr days. i was practically collapsing at work. and, i took care of sick babies under warmers and the heat was killing me. like doydie, when i retired my BP came down from dangerous levels to normal. the physical effort it took to do my job was killing me. do you have anything like SSDI in canada? prayers for you that you get seen and heard by your drs.
