I woke Friday morning after my baby was awake all night long crying. I wife was very tired and when I woke up I was able to get out of bed, walk to the bathroom, showered, dry off and got out of the shower without assistance. I then grabbed my socks and was feeling good so I actually reached down and was able to put them around my feet and slide them on! That is HUGE for me. It has been months since I have been able to do that. I sneaked into the living room, walked past my walker and used a cane to walk down the hall way. I really was feeling strong and my right foot was working incredibly so I was able to walk outside quietly without falling over. I walked over to my truck that I use for carry my scooter. I looked to my right at my Avalon (A car I have not driven in ages) and wondered if it would start. I got in, turned the key and it started up. Wow I was feeling excited! I walked back over to the truck to start it and when I looked inside I saw my send cane sitting there. I grabbed it, did not want to wake my sleeping wife so I jumped back into my car, drove up the driveway and drove to work! I got to work and thought I would need my walker or scooter, I forgot my lunch and I walked all over the place all day Friday. People were worried as I went to the front desk staff and to my office a few times, all the way to the fiscal department and to the waiting room about 4 times before I needed to ask for assistance. I didn't have a PM dose of Ampyra which helps me walk and my walking got "used up" and was afraid to drive back home at the end of the day but I made it all the way. I was unable to walk anymore that evening so basically ate dinner, talked to the kids and went to bed. A VERY SUCCESSFUL DAY! I thought, "My walking will not continue tomorrow-there is no way" I told myself. In the morning I needed a little help but I WAS WALKNG! I felt the need to share this great news! Thank you all for listening. :)
