Default bruising?

Has anyone ever got large bruising from their injections?

I have a spot from Friday's injection that is almost black and as big around as my wrist. I just noticed it today and am keeping a close eye on it, just wanted to know if anyone else has had this.

Thanks

are your injections sub Q or intramuscular?
i'd call your dr and see what they say to do. it might be too late to ice it.
sounds like you might have hit a vein and it bled under the skin.

are you on any blood thinners?
make sure to hold pressure for a couple of min's after you inject.
does it hurt? make sure there's no reddness or red streaking. that could mean an infection and you'd need to see the dr.

They are sub q, I'm not on blood thinners, it does hurt, it's on my stomach over an area that has stretch marks from having kids so the streaks are from that, and hubby said last night that it's not hot at all.

Thank you so much for your advice!

you might also call the drug comp and see what they say.
i'm sure they've run across all sorts of things including that.
let us know how you are.

I talked to the MS Lifelines nurse today. She doesn't know why it did that but said to just keep an eye out for infection and that I could try a topical ointment to see if it helps the bruise. Not any help there.

She said she was scratching her head as to why it happened.
