It is true, that lesions can be in various locations, that would denote some form of disability, yet, some patients don't and some do. Some can have more than others(like me) and seem physically ok, benign, and some people can have just one or two(which I've seen) and have mobility issues like you wouldn't believe.
It is worth, checking into, to see if your heart condition is a factor in any off this. You asked, is it necessary to 'have' a neuro. Meh, yes and no. If your doctors are recommending one, it can show that you are a compliant patient, and willing to at least see one, then they can rule out everything that they can, to find out what's causing your mobility struggles. I agree, about trying physical therapy. |
since you're symptomatic i would con't with a neuro.
i'd also run these sx's by your pcp and neuro so they can follow your progress and keep abreast of your medical care. not everything is MS related. it's also possible that some lesions don't show up on the MRI right away. and having one with contrast may show up more active disease. are you on any DMD's? also, you might ask about a PT evaluation. PT might help strengthen your legs. the physical therapists do a great eval and they can bring things to your dr's attention. don't give up. we're here for you. keep us posted. |
