yes! I got the grab bar(s) that I wanted up, put up. I now have six grab bars in my bathroom. The three in the shower, two right outside the shower, and one right next to the bathroom sink. Just before the remodel started, I was in the bathroom combing my hair, and I'd started to fall backwards a little bit. My hand had reached out to the wall automatically. I didn't fall, but I noted where my hand went. I knew there was a stud there. So when I was buying grab bars for the shower upstairs, I added a couple extra. I bought eight bars.

The other one that I bought for myself is just outside the bathroom on the wall. So that when I stumblebunny into the bathroom at 4am, I have something to hold onto after letting go of the walker.

The bathroom upstairs has six bars. Four in the shower (like I'd wanted in my shower when we built it a couple of years ago.) And then two outside of the shower.

I'll try to take pictures tomorrow of the grab bars.

The stuff upstairs just needs finishing touches.

The only thing my bedroom needs is the electrician has to come in and finish the work on the electrical outlets. Hook up the doorbell so I can hear when someone comes to the door, and then put up brand new smoke detectors. Our smoke detectors were all expired. They have to be interconnected, and when we remodeled my room. The size of the room made it mandatory that I get a smoke detector in my room, even tho there's one just outside my bedroom door. (think it's only about two feet away from my door)

Oh, and put a remote control on my ceiling fan and light so I can turn on the light and fan from my bed.

My b12 went up!!!

Just got a call from my doctor's office. My b12 was 460. Which is higher than it was when I had my b12 checked in 2008. In 2008, it was 345. Two months ago, it was 252.

yay!

The Before picture

...and the After picture.

Where the light switch is in the first picture. That bit of wall (about 2ft of wall) got deleted. The big white cabinet that's next to the desk used to be on the other side of that deleted wall.

Also in the first picture, where the purses are hanging on the wall. That's the wall that got moved so that it just goes straight across, instead of doing that little curve.

Our contractor did an amazing job. You would never know that we moved a wall. Looks like it's been this way forever. I really really like it!

The decorator was here today to bring the wallpaper for the bathroom, and to bring a light fixture for the new bathroom. We bought two of the lights, We're changing the light fixture in my bathroom too.

The decorator freaked when she saw the bathroom upstairs. (it still needs a shower door, and some plumbing work) She's going to come back with a photographer, and she said if we don't mind, she's putting the picture on her company's website. She was surprised that we had the ceiling of the shower tiled too, but said she was so glad that we did that. Said that it really made the bathroom. I'll post pictures of it later. I have Before, After/Before, After pictures of that one. (it's the 2nd remodel for that bathroom)

Wow Erin! That looks great. You'll never want to leave your room.

I just really like skulls for some reason. You can't see it, but I have a glass one that's a candle holder on the lower part of the bookcase. It has a baseball on top of it's head. (I got a baseball at a game I went to with my boyfriend in Lincoln a couple of years ago. Hope I get to go to a game this year). I also have a collection of bandannas with skulls on them. The ones on my shelf, one is made of rubber. I bought it on sale at an after-Halloween sale. (best time to get decorations). Another one is some sort of hard material that I can't remember the name of. Also a post-Halloween purchase. And the third one is styrofoam that I got at WalMart. (after Halloween, of course!)

The skulls make great models when I crochet hats. Their names are Yorick, Horatio, and Moriarty.

I have some other skull themed stuff in my Halloween box in the storeroom, but my skulls that are in my room are better for display.

I don't have a microwave (wish I did). I do have a mini fridge in the storeroom, but it's broken and has been freezing everything, so my contractor is going to take it with him (or give it to the electricians to fix and keep if they want it) when they're done with our house.

I might get another mini fridge to put in the storeroom, but I'm going to wait awhile for that. We need to clean the storeroom first.

My room is now 289sq ft. It's probably the size of a decent NYC apartment. Except there's no kitchen. (if I didn't need a closet...) When I get it a little more cleaned up, I'll take some better pictures from the door looking into the room.

289 sq ft is a decent size NYC apartment???? Yikes. I think I'll stay here in the midwest in my 2200 sq ft home even though it is 2 stories and inconvenient

That's what the carpet guy told me. Said that 289sq ft was an "affordable" size for an apartment in NYC.

Erin, I think I will stay in Indiana in my nice south west town. Of course if I lived in an apartment that small it would force me to be more organized and clean more often.

I noticed that I'm really wanting to keep this room cleaner, now that the room is bigger for me.

It's a lot more space than what I had earlier. Surprising what knocking down two feet of wall will do, along with moving another six feet of wall over.
