Default Richard Cohen's Blog.

Richard has recently had stem cell replacement therapy
and I do so enjoy his blog. He talks as I feel. I hope you
find some comfort and validation in his words, as well.

I'd never heard of him until you posted the link Sally, but I like his writing too. Apparently we all share some perspectives. Wouldn't it be great if people without MS (or other disabilities), read more of this type of blog?

With love, Erika

I saw him and his wife on Dr. Oz (I know......not a good show but I enjoyed the interview). He's funny and knows what he's talking about.

i went to the blog and I really enjoy it. I was trying to find a place to post...I subscribed, do not see the email the subscription said would come to my box for me to click on. See some icons I cannot use as I do not trust Facebook. Maybe I will get this straight after breakfast. This is part of MY disability, trying to maneuver websites.

I wanted to post a reply to how he was treated in a "house of worship" and why that is, and how one can feel sorry for the people who treat you that way in a house of worship. You remember I had to quit my "house of worship" because they refused to clean the carpet with steam instead of toxic junk. And I had my anger moments, then my moments of feeling free of that ball and chain (my church, no longer my church) and then ultimately I felt sorry for those who are so crippled in their OWN emotions that they couldn't make the slight effort to change their carpet cleaning methods. And Richard needs reminding that the "usher" who wouldn't look him in the eye is badly wounded herself. She is going to the "house of worship" to try to heal her own psyche, which is wounded just as Richard's body is wounded. The churches are, Jesus said, like hospitals for the wounded, and those are whom He came to heal...He used other words, but I've heard it paraphrased many times like this.

It is quite obvious, if you look around, that a great many people (majority? large minority?--don't have statistics) are operating wounded, whether or not they use canes or wheelchairs.

Muriel, under Richard's post there is a comment button. Hit it and a pop up
comment window will open. You will be able to become a member then.

Sally the signup email arrived, and I managed to subscribe. I haven't had time to go back to that site, but I intend to. I was busy with PT, than sleeping off my trip to the PT, then trying to get up courage to take a shower and wash my hair. The hose in the shower keeps falling off the wall and I am afraid it will bruise my foot. I'm hoping the handyman will fix it on Thursday.
My skin is very disabled at this time, but I am walking better and having less jerking at night. Probably due to taking less calcium. I read up on what causes hypercalcimia, in addition to taking too much calcium, of course. It could be my MGUS is turning into Multiple Myeloma, or I have Sarcoidosis, or renal failure...I had not been speculating on these things, but the new doc may do so next Monday. I had no idea things could just keep piling up, did you?
