Default My Re-Joinder

I wasn't finished with my thread (which hasn't been approved yet), but I hit the wrong button and it disappeared!

I've had MS for 35 years, give or take. It took a mild course for the first 30 years, then picked up speed. My symptoms are mostly left-sided, complicated by a stroke 2 years ago that left me with more left-sided damage. I hunt and peck with one hand now, which slows me down considerably when posting!

Thankfully, I was able to raise my 5 children to adulthood before my symptoms started to accumulate. In addition to raising a family, I'm a former calligrapher and editor, a former Tarot card reader, and a former knitter. My life now seems to consist of a lot of "formers." Now I just try to get through each day as gracefully as I can.

I'm glad to "re-join" NeuroTalk; I recognize many of you from around the MS boards.

Sometimes if you hit the back button you can get back to your "lost post" if you do it right away..

some will type out longer posts in word or notepad then copy paste it here so they don't lose it.

Guess I'm a former waiter...used to wait to get approved for disability, wait for the checks to arrive, wait for symptoms to worsen...so far they haven't. (lucky)

You say your thread hadn't been approved yet...there's no waiting for that here!

Hello - and 'welcome back'

Sorry that the MS juggernaut is catching up with you. It's a cr@ppy dx - but a wonderful group of people here who have it.

Looking forward to getting to know you and sharing your wisdom.

Regards

I appreciate everyone's responses! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond myself...I've been pretty sick with a UTI and C. Diff. I hope to become a more active member, now that I'm starting to feel a bit better.

Hi Arrietty, and welcome!

I'm a former knitter too--also a former translator/editor though if work I could do at my own pace came my way, I'd tackle it.

Sorry about your UTI and hope it's clearing up. Those UTIs are my idea of misery.

MSery, maybe I should say.

MS has been kinder to me than to many people, and I'm grateful for that, but in the last year or so my legs have been pretty wobbly and I don't get very far. My arms and hands aren't very cooperative either.

I haven't been here much lately but hope to do better.
