Msarkie,

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mayo Clinic neuro problem. I also saw the biggest jacka%#$ neurologist there too. PM me if you want to exchange names. He was TERRIBLE. Rude, condescending, and not sympathetic at all. With that radiologist report in hand I would immediately demand a consultation with another neuro.

Be aggressive, stick to your guns. You have evidence and a good reason on the MRI report to ask to see another neurologist.

Gah, hearing this story makes me so mad! I know exactly how you feel!

I would report his behavior to both the director at Mayo and the State. You have proof in hand of your disease, and he had no right to diagnose without a thorough exam and history! Gr-rrr-r-r-r-r!

More like UN-diagnose! Fatheaded jerk! Egomaniacal, pompous, self-important.........
I could go on for days. I have a long fuse, but when you get to the end of it there's a REALLY big boom! And boy, can I ever hold a grudge!

I'm still waiting to hear back from the internist about his chat with the neuro........

What a complete asshat. Good for you for having faith in yourself. I love mayo Jacksonvilke, but I thought the MS neuro I saw there in 2004 was kind, but very mediocre.

I saw Timothy Vollmer MD when he was at Yale, around 1999-- he was wonderful. I would fly anywhere to see him. Is he still at Barrows in Arizona?

Good for you to clue in the internal med doc about your experience. There are bad apples at Mayo even though most are great.

PLEASE TELL US HIS NAME SO WE CAN AVOID HIM!

His last name is something like Weinshenker. I spoke with the internist this week and let him know some of what went on, and told him plainly that Dr. W had no business seeing patients, even though he may be a great researcher. He assured me that if I wanted to come back he would make sure I saw another neuro. I really liked the internist, his name is Dr. Raslau.

I am seeing Dr. Raslau in a month. Any suggestions?
