Yep, Sal, they do come apart quickly, that's why someone suggested cutting them into smaller pieces and it worked for me. The directions do say to use moderate pressure, kind of that "let the tool do the work" approach.

They are pretty remarkable though, I like Mr. C's eraser, but just for those little, odd jobs. For the rest, I prefer letting someone else do it.:D

I buy them in big boxes and use them on all sorts of stuff! I even keep a box of them in the hangar for cleaning the airplane! They are just the greatest thing since sliced bread! LOL!
