I also desperately need to find some more shoes I can wear. I have arch pain in both feet but mostly the right, as well as VERY sensitive heels on the underside and back. At the moment I can only wear one pair of runners which have arch support built into the original insole. I have been wearing these for the last 2 months. But with the Aussie summer soon approaching I definitely need a pair of sandals and ideally a pair of slippers too.

I am afraid that my heels will not be able to tolerate the shoe sole without the cushioning effect of socks. My heels are so sensitive that they feel any kind of 'edge'.

Any suggestions/ideas?

I am seeing the podiatrist this week to discuss having a pair of orthotics prepared and which type of sandal I can buy.

JK123,

These Vionic with Orthaheel shoes have gotten some great reviews. I've never tried them but you might be able to.

You can also purchase just the insert to use in shoes you already have.

I have to say for myself it's incredible, some days (not nearly enough) i feel like I could strap on a pair of heels and be fine. Most days however it's truly tempting to just grab some plastic tie straps and strap a pair of pillows to my feet. And then the rest I'm good in a pair regular ol sneakers. Even though I'm slowly getting used to the swishy between the toes feeling from the new memory foam sneaks the DH got me....

Still thinking pillows would be better today though. I really do need to start making some shlippers

Just wanted to say that I'm appreciative of this "Shoes" thread.

I don't have MS, but I have residual vertigo from a concussion years ago.

It's been a real problem finding something to wear on my feet that feels right and doesn't make my walking issues worse. Some shoes I just can't wear because of the balance issues. Bare feet is the best, but of course I can't go bare feet unless at home. I miss all my beautiful heels from when I was younger, but gosh, what was I thinking.

Just saying "thanks"! I'm getting some ideas.

The shlippers seem to have felt soles. They look as if they'd be comfortable--and not so hard to make, but I've found time and again that I have to have a more "textured" or corrugated sole. I don't think felt would give enough traction.

Haven't tried it though!

I'm so glad to see that others are finding this thread helpful.

I ordered another pair of shoes for myself. I got the same color as in the picture. And, I got them on 5 payments!!

Here they are: http://www.qvc.com/Skechers-GOwalk-S...tml?sc=A235358

I hit the jackpot with these! They are undoubtedly the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

And so lightweight! I'm wearing them around the house to get used to the feel of something on my foot.

I think I might get another pair next month to wear as house shoes.
