Default Lyrica

After all my testing was done and got the results from my neuro, turns out Im still having sz's. Frontal lobe sz's in my sleep and when Im awake I tend to stare off for no reason, found out that's a sz! Well, Im also having tons of pain so Im taking more of my other meds to help combat it, but neuro tells me well, I'll put you on Lyrica for sz's and the pain. I've heard good things about that. I was thinking YOU'VE heard good things, has he never rx this to any of his other MS pts? Or am I just his guinea pig? All the meds Im on now I've been on since 2012 and this neuro is very resistant to me getting the baclofen pump. Any body else take lyrica? If so, why and does it help? Any side effects I should be looking for?

i switched from neurontin to lyrica for neuropathic pain in my feet. it works a lot better for me. however, it's also more expensive. i don't know about seizures tho.

ask your pharmacist for the information handout on the drug that's put out by the drug comp. it cover everything about the drug and is quite detailed. you can also go online and google it.

Hi KittyLady,

Lyrica is used to treat pain. It's basically a newer version of Neurontin.

I used Lyrica a few years ago. It did not touch any pain I had but the main pain it was prescribed for may or may not have been due to MS.

I didn't like Lyrica. It made me feel loopy and increased my fatigue.

Hoping Lyrica is the 'magic bullet' for you

Default Works for me!

Hi,

I just started on Lyrica. I am very drug sensitive. I get sedated from 0.5mg of Valium. I also have lots of drug allergies so I was very scared to start it.

I can say it was a very positive experience for me. At first it felt strange because it was very relaxing but it's seems better to me if I take it 30 mins before I go to sleep. Otherwise my body wants to sleep but brain is still ticking over and wants to watch tv heehee

It didn't make me feel mentally out of it like Amitryptiline did. It helped so much with my pain and muscle spasms. I stopped it and got spasms again and pins and needles. I will stay on it because I'm over the pains and twitching and tingling.

I take 25mg and it helped me and I was able to function normally the next day.

Good luck
