Default Sick of feeling weird!

Hi all, I just want to vent... I have had weird sensations for 2 years now. Last years MRI showed a lesion on my cervical spine. I am getting another one this Tues. I am constantly tired, I feel like I am high or lightheaded, my hands, feet , arms, legs and tongue is tingly. I get muscle twitches in arms and legs. Every day I wake up with numb hands and feet. Whenever I sit or lie down the tingles come.. I am a police officer and work the overnights. I am so exhausted and I just feel weird sensations constantly now... I am positive I have MS ( Vit B, diabetes, lyme all neg) I am screwing up at work, people are thinking I'm a ditz but honestly I can't blame them. I am forgetting stuff and am just too damn tired.. I feel stuck in limbo.. waiting to find out what is wrong with me and sick of feeling like a complete idiot at work! What do people do when they feel rotten and don't have a diagnosis yet?

I’m sorry that you are having such a rough time. Not knowing what is wrong with you is torturous. Getting a diagnosis for me became a long and frustrating crusade. I know how hard it is to be living in a “normal” world when “normal” is the opposite of what you feel.

You’ve got to be strong. I don’t mean to sound preachy, but you have to self-advocate until you are satisfied with a diagnosis. Once you know what you have, you can rationally deal with the facts of the matter. Until then you are just guessing, and I think that is what makes it so frightening.

Luckily, you’ve found us. There are plenty of people here who are in the same boat. So stick around. We’re a pretty nice group, and you’ll be able to hear about others in the same position.

Hang in there. There are better days ahead.

hello and welcome to NT,

i'm sorry you're going thru this. i have the utmost repect for you and for what you do.

i would be a strong advocate for yourself at all your dr visits. if you can take a friend or family member with you for backup and a 2nd set of ears. IF you have MS tell your dr you must find out what is wrong. not everything is due to MS so maybe something else is going on physically.

get copies of your mri's and copies of test results plus the mri report. start a medical file on yourself. it will come in handy in the future and you will learn a lot by reading the reports.

meet with your pcp and neuro and make them explain things to you and formulate a plan to deal with your sx's (symptoms) even during the diagnostic process some sx's can be handled by medications etc.

don't give up. i wish you the best. remember that knowledge is power and power is control. you are the captain of your team. surround yourself with drs that validate you and are willing to find out what's wrong.

keep us posted.
