Thanks Eddie for your input! My cath is an 18 also. I've had one for a couple years now and it never used to leak. The original home health agency I was with kept shortening the time between changes until it was down to every week. That seemed to take care of the problem. Now my pcp won't give permission to change it any more often than once a month to help prevent infection.

Like nurse nancy said, I agree that the irritation of being wet is just as bad. And Doydie, do you mean Desitin? Yes, I used to have it on hand for when the kids as babies had an awful diaper rash. Didn't happen very often, but when it did, that stuff worked miracles! And yes, I do use it sometimes now. It's so sticky and yucky feeling, but it sure works!

Going to try calling the neuro later today and see if he has any suggestions. There has to be a solution and Jan. 9 seems so far away until the urologist appointment. Thanks again everyone, and I'll keep you posted.....

I saw an advertisement the other day for Aquaphor for leaky bladder issues. Yes Judy2, Desiten is what I was referring to.
