Default Popular Anti Biotic Linked Nerve Damage/Death.

Another Cipro like Med/AB (Fluoroquinolone family), Levoquine, proves to be dangerous to some.

I'm allergic to Cipro, thank God, and stay away from all other Fluoroquinolone ABs,
as a PWMS, because of the potential of a nerve damage side effect.

We have had quite a few posters on PN forum here, who have been damaged by long term Cipro and Levaquin treatments.

Many people with bronchitis or community acquired pneumonia are given Levaquin. Many times Zithromax is adequate for it also without the nerve damage potential.

I have a thread in the subforum at PN about drug induced nerve damage (PN).

Thanks for sharing this Sally. The side effects are the last thing any one here needs; much less anyone else.

With love, Erika

Scary! Antibiotics are overused, IMO. The link was a story by the local news team here in Atlanta!

I hope this makes folks think and ask lots of questions before filling and blindly taking an antibiotic just because a doctor prescribed it.

Pharmacists seem to know more about these things than doctors so ask your pharmacist if your own doctor doesn't give you a satisfactory answer.

I hate this drug and have posted about it before! The last 2 times I took it I slipped into a deep depression. When I finally got off of it I felt better. I knew about the weakness and rupture of tendons in this drug but decided never to take it again. A lot of times people just prescribe for UTI's. It is terribly overused

Can taking levaquin once cause damage? I was given it for potential uti and the next day my tendons were bothering me so I quit it immediately. A month later I started suffering from current nerve issues. I've been told that taking it once couldnt do anything but it has left me wondering.
