yeah, we have one of those. Doesn't work really well when you can't stand, while holding the extender, and turning the light bulb without falling down, or dropping the bulb on your head. Or if the fixture has a glass globe over it, and you can't get up there to get the globe off.

I'm just going to be slowly replacing all our light bulbs with Cree LED bulbs. (the ones that look like real light bulbs. Just not the one that puts out white/bluish light.)

Bought one of the Cree bulbs, the one that puts out the white/bluish light. It puts out a LOT of light, It just doesn't look that natural. It's equal to a 60watt light bulb tho. I'm shocked at how much light it puts out.

I put it in a lamp first, and it didn't seem to put out a lot of light, but when our Orkin man came last week, and he put it in one of the fixtures in my room that has a glass globe over it. It seems to put out more light that the 75 watt incandescent that I used to have in that fixture.

Think I read that the Cree bulbs are supposed to last seven or eight years. Hopefully that's true.

The only thing I don't like about the bulbs, is that they don't put out any heat. I actually liked the fact that incandescent bulbs would put out heat, because on cold days, I'd close my bedroom door, and let the heat from the lights warm the room up.

It doesn't matter if it will be a 'few' minutes, it doesn't. It is the LAW that you do not park in a handicapped offload zone if you do not have any legal documents that say you can. Why can't some people get that through their heads? Even before I got any hint of M dot S, when I was fine and a strong, young buck....I still never ever parked in a handicapped zone. My parents tought me that rule very well and to have respect for people that aren't as able. I don't care if you're the only one in the parking lot and you decided to park in a zone....you don't do that!

I remember helping my mom with my grandma whom had a massive stroke. Finding a space to park big enough to offload her 'stuff' support equipment and big wheelchair....was a hassle every time. THAT is why when I saw this jerk with the bike park right in the middle of the offload zone....I flicked a pick and got really mad....I wanted to get out and reem him a new one, teach him a lesson, but I didn't. Those ignorant morons have no idea how hard it is when you have a disabled person on board, trying to offload. Those spaces matter and I don't care if no handicappped person parks there for a year....you DON'T park THERE if you aren't legally allowed!

Basically I'm going to upload the pic to some site that ridicules morons that do these things. If any such site exsist, please advise. I'd show it to police, but I don't think they'd do anything....would they?

I'm seeing more of this crap these days than ever.... it's unbelievable.

Wish I had a picture of what I just experienced just now.

Took my dad to his cardiac exercise class, which I do too to use their machines. Walking up to the building, some <swear word> had parked his motorcycle on the sidewalk. Right at the top of the handicap ramp.

Had my mom with us. She's a bit clueless on things, she also doesn't care if she's blocking me and my dads way. We all use walkers.

She started chatting with motorcycle guy. Blocking my way, and I was trying to get up the ramp. So I kind of yelled at my mom a bit. Told her she and the bike were blocking the ramp, and that I couldn't get past the two of them. Might have said the motorcycle should not have been on the sidewalk.

Pretty sure the cyclist figured out I was kind of calling him out a bit. He revved his bike up like he was mad, and left.

Sidewalks are for pedestrians. Ramps on sidewalks are to help people who can't step up a curb, or for wheelchairs to roll up. Not for motorcycles to easily park on sidewalks.

I'm getting really annoyed at all the people who are making it harder for me or my dad to get around.

What makes the motorcyclists so freaking special that they think they can park in the handicap access spaces next to the handicap parking spots, and on sidewalks?

They're obviously physically capable people. They can go park in a real parking space and walk their lazy butts to the door like the rest of the Normals do.

I think they get this mentality that because they are not cars, they can cut corners on the driving laws....Lane splitting, parking anyplace they want ect.

When I saw that bike guy park in that wheelchair zone I asked myself why? He looked all kinds of stupid doing that. I mean...is he such a raging(swear word) that he has to park in wheelchair zones to **** people off?

Dude, I have a placard and a legal right to use the handizone and I don't! not yet. Sometimes when I am absolutely dragged out, but it's rare. I'm fine parking on the side a few spots down from the handi zone...I'm still fairly mobile, even with a walking stick.

She told me only people with wheelchairs used the handicap spots, and she never sees any people with wheelchairs, so she thought it would be ok for her "few" minutes. (she was in there for 20 or more because I was in there for at least 20mins myself)

When I was using one of the local gyms down the street from us, when I first started using my AFO, and a cane. I'd park in the handicap spot (with my official placard), but there'd usually be some schmuck parked in the wheelchair access spaces. Complained to the management. They didn't think it was a problem because "handicap people don't exercise". Ummm...what?

I used to take pictures of the motorcycles and motor scooters that would park in the wheelchair access spots, and tweet the pictures to the twitter account of the gym company.

What irritates me right now down at the cardiac center where my dad and I go to use their special gym, are the doctors that park in the fire lane in front of the building. Blocking the wheelchair ramps. Last week, the ramp was blocked by a car when we went in. Came back out an hour and a half later. Car was still there, but the doctor that owns the car came out right after we schlepped our way down the high curb. Guy was wearing his scrubs, and had his hospital i.d. clipped to his official doctor coat. Made me mad enough that I would have wanted to make that guy need a doctor. Good thing the MS keeps me from acting on the homicidal urge to run them down with the walker. I don't want to get blood on my wheels.

My father used to be in a wheelchair and when I encountered this situation, usually when he was in the hospital for his radiation treatments, I would go leave a large note on their windshield. It was not a nice note and may have made no difference but I felt better.

That pic of the motorcycle....I think I would have been prompted to leave something sticky and nasty on the seat!

I posted to Walgreen's facebook page the other night about the people illegally parking in the handicap spots at the store I use.

Just noticed they posted back to me to private message them back about it. Now I'm not sure what to say. Other than they need to make the handicap parking spots more obvious.

My exboyfriend used to have a motorcycle (someone caused him to wreck it last summer, broke his leg, totaled his bike). I never went riding with him, but I'm pretty sure that he's the kind of guy who would park in a regular parking spot, and NOT on sidewalks, or in the handicap access spots. He won't respond to emails, or facebook posts I send him anymore (no idea what I did to make him completely stop talking to me. He said he still wanted to be friends, but never responds to any of my attempts to just ask how he's doing. Kind of hurt by that)

If I could get him to talk to me about it, I'd like to know if the motorcyclists that park in places that they probably shouldn't be parking in, are doing it because they're being <swear words>, or if they're doing it because they honestly don't know that it's probably illegal, and extremely rude to handicap people and a lot of pedestrians.

My husband is a motor cyclist. He says that the ones who park like that are lazy, and being jerks. Part of the liscencing test is parking, they know.

I responded back to Walgreens when they wanted more information. But, no one there has contacted me back again about it. I also called the store, and talked to the shift manager. He said that he would talk to the store manager, and then they would submit a "fix it ticket" to see if they could get someone to do maintenance on their parking lot. I'd also complained about the chuckholes in the parking lot.

Hopefully they'll do something to make the handicap parking more obvious to all the Normals that are not very observant, lazy, and jerks.
