Well...since Peg has not yet shown up to get this going and since we were on page three or four already, I though it time to start a new thread.
Good to see Dayle and Mark and BBS and Wayleaf and so many others finding their way back here. I got an email from JL on September 24 stating that the new BT would be back up and running (at a link in the email) shortly. It also stated that software and hardware glitches had had the site down for about a month....try nearly 3 months!. Anyway, the link still is not working as of this morning, a week after the email was sent. We were near the freezing mark this morning and I heard from someone in Maine that it was 29 degrees when he got up today. We're courting lower 50's now and the primer is going on the exterior of the house and we've chosen the color to redo the trim on this old house. Tomorrow sheetrock will be put up in the new room and hopefully, within a week, the room will be usable. I've heard that Katie-Kate (bubblesperson) is now in Germany with her folks and is getting superb medical care and even is getting an insurance covered wheelchair that will bring one to a standing position. She is tickled pink about it. Sheila (PCat) is being hit hard with the realization that Chris is truly gone and never coming back. That realization hit hard last week and she is relying on family, friends, and those from this community who know her to keep her going. I have her address if anyone wishes to send a card or letter. Eli (kidoftheking) should be on the road as I write this. They have loaded up the trailer and the van and have refurbished the house in ElPaso to sell and this morning were to start the drive to the upper peninsula in MI to retire. Wheelchairs and all. Here...my daughter is still quite ill and now three year old grandson has been running a fever for the past three days. So far the labs would indicate mono is the cause of her elevated liver enzymes and extreme fatigue. But they have discovered a genetic protein altered that affects clotting and that is thought to be the cause of her blood clot in the portal vein. Still on Lovenox injections twice a day for the next month or two. She has 4 doc appts next week. We (David and I ) have had multiple tubes of blood drawn as well to see if either of us are at risk for clots due to this inherited protein disorder. The tests are also looking at lupus for all of us. I have a brother with Lupus. Now, pull up a chair, chime in and tell us how each of you is doing this lovely autumn day. And if you have news of those not yet here that we should know about...please let us know. |

Well Cherie, thank you for the update on your daughter. I have been concerned about your family. I know as a mom, when my kids are sick, even if its a simple URI, I cannot concentrate until the illness goes away. So, for your daughter to be on such a hard path, it's gotta be hard.
FLorida is starting to cool off as well, 70 at night mid to upper 80's daytime. The backyard pool is starting to chill down, so I know it will be anytime now that its covered for winter and then on to the public heated pools for the cold weather swimming. What a stunning headline tihs morning about our COngressman Foley who was caught soliciting sex from teenage boys and a Page. His main thing in Congress was tightening the laws against Sexual Predators. Danielle Steele could not have thought up this plot. It's sickening. Its nice to have BT to see old faces. I look forward to the true BT site being up again. I still dont quite understand how this is BT2, but BT is not up yet?? Tomorrow night marks teh evening of Yom Kippur. I get to read at the service again. Hopefully no one minds me swaying back and forth since The MS makes it hard to stand still Why is it that its hard to stand still for more than a minute, but not hard to walk for lengthy periods of time do you think? |

Swaying in services could mean you are deeply devoted to prayer and your body is just moving to that rhythm. See how pious I have you being? Now the walking for long periods...I can't answer that because I sway while standing with my eyes closed but cannot walk for long distances without weaving and appearing drunk.

I'm alive. Still as ornery as ever. Trying to keep my temper in my own space.
I'm glad that BT is back up and running. I don't (never really did) post too much because, yes, I tend to be a "hothead", but I do enjoy reading and keeping up with people (as best I can). I'm still attempting to do the non-med route, in so far as my MS is concerned. Every time I give in, I get sicker, so I'm trying to stick to my guns. I suppose that time will tell how "wise" I am to do so. Anyway... good to see y'all still typing. |

Cherie-I am very sorry to hear your dd is ill. Please keep us updated. I hope they figure out what is going on with her soon. Nothing is worse than when our kids are sick.

Hi all, well I'm back from spending 4 days with daughter and 5 grandchildren! Wow those little ones make me really tired. That's why God created menopause. He knows the older we get the less we can keep up with the demands and needs of children.
Daughter just went back to work after the birth of #5. It's a struggle to get everyone out the door in the AM. However an even bigger problem is the crazy school bus schedules. When I arrived at noon, I was met by my son in-law waiting for me in the driveway, so he could return to work. The first grader was sent home with a temp and in their school district if you have a temp one day can't return to school the next day. So I was desperately needed for child care. It sure is a lot harder to be a parent these days. Next weekend we're off to Pgh to visit with our other daugher and 3 more grandkids. I really do enjoy these trips and spending quality and helpful time with our adult children and grandchildren. Cherie, hope things are going better with your daughter. I'm sure you'll be extra busy with baby sitting for awhile. Betty |

Yea! Peg is back! Are you willing to take over the chit Chat again? Sounds like you've had a horrific summer but new life is making things fresh again. So sorry for the losses but grateful for the gains. Welcome home.
