Same With Me

I have the same problem with not being able to fully empty my bladder and it started long before I was dx with MS. My doctor hasn't ever prescribed medication he told me to use catheters. So I self-cath when necessary. I get a lot of UTI's because of this and it has me worried.

I take an antibiotic every 10 days called Monurol (fosfomycin). It comes in a sachet that you dissolve in 1/2 a cup of water and drink. Its effect lasts a full 10 days. After the 9th or 10th day, I feel a UTI coming on. So until that feeling stops, I will stay on it. It's nice to not need to keep having to get a script a full week long course of antibiotics.

I self-catheterize 100% of the time since having Botox in early September. I can't go on my own. So I'm at high risk for UTIs and this has kept them at bay.
