Ms. Acorn, I've noticed that your moodometer says, "sad". Care to elucidate???

Thanks, AMN, hope it is a comfy chair. I was going to change my mood today, but couldn't decide on another. Are you doing better?, it's been a rough week/month all around.

I've decided to leave my boyfriend of 3 years. He is who I moved to Denver to be with. I have realized I cannot afford to live out here in the sunshine and the mountains in the distance, and it breaks my heart. The cost of living out here is unbelievable.

So, I must go back to Ohio and my family. I'm not a failure (keep telling myself). I grew so much out here, and I'm not just talking my waistline. :o

That's it in a nutshell (or an acorn). I'm so proud of myself for making the move and giving this a shot. And I'm devistated that I can't take the weather and views back east.

Are you still there? If so, I want to thank you for your concern and if you ask, I'll give you more details. I just don't want to bum everyone out at once. :D

 :Thanx:

Sure, Beth, I'm here and this is MY thread that asked HOW ARE YOU TODAY? Today, you tell me how are you. This is how it works.

Are you certain that returning to OH is your only alternative?

Please continue. I'm listening.

Oh my gosh! Has anyone else noticed that this thread has had over 18k views!!?!?!?!?!?? What the heck????:yikes:

Oh my goodness, Beth..:( I am sorry that this has happened. I don't know all the reasons that you are making this decision, but, since you are, then it must be right for you.

The interuption of a relationship is always sad and am sorry, but I wish you the best of everything.

I'm here in Ohio...somewhere...:D

I believe this is the best all around choice (except for weather). I talked to my one sister who's spare room I stayed in. She said that her husband and she were recently talking and wondering if I would come back. :thud: I didn't see that coming. I offered her a $200 a month and before I paid her nothing and had a p/t job. My b-i-l lost his job in IT and was unemployed for a year. Recently he got a job installing awnings or something, so I know money is tight.

The downside is she's been using the whole room as a closet and joked that I could sleep next door at our dad's house and live at hers during the day. :)

I sold my car to move here, so transportation may take some time. Her ex just fired his office staff, and I used to work there, so a p/t job is a possibility. His business is in the same building as her business.

My great MS doc at CCF Mellen center, my awesome dentist and eye doc are still there.

The negatives are living in a house with smokers and drinkers. The usual chaos that having family in the same city involves. I have missed the shar pei pups, but not the responsibility of them.

I don't like the depressed economy in OH, or the racial tensions. Out here everyone gets along and despite the housing market dropping the economy is fine here. OH weather sucks and the humidity is something I've not had to deal with here.

On the plus side I can celebrate holidays again, not even birthdays were acknowledged here. I've got one coming up soon enough.

I've considered just renting a room somewhere out here. Darts is sw D, where I am. MS doc is nw D, 40 min drive away and no car. Then there is all the expenses like rent, food, utilities.

I guess that is all for now. Any comments?

Well, if you're comfortable with the change, then you need to do what's best for you. Rooming with your sis might not be all that great, but would it be indefinite?

Do you have an income out there? If you're on SSDI there are options available to you.

I know it's sickening expensive out there, but there are concessions for the disabled.

I know you will do what is best. (((hugs)))
