Default I finally did it.....

I made an appointment with a new neuro. I have had the same neuro since I was dx'd in '86." I adore him but I deal with voidance or for me it's about self-preservation. My current neuro is one floor above the doctor who triggered my PTSD 3 years ago.

I try to stay away from the hospitals or medical buildings where he practices.

I really hate changing neuros

Hey there LeeAnn, aka Snoopy!

You said the key words, self-preservation. That reminder is one you really don't need every time you visit your neuro. Even though you like your doc, it's not worth it if every visit sets you back again for awhile. Sometimes I think it's a good thing to get a "fresh" evaluation. Doctors can get in a rut too and just keep prescribing more of the same......just my opinion of course.

Good luck with your new neuro and I hope you'll like this one just as much!! Hugs........

Well, good, LA. You may find that the new neuro is just what you needed. He may have other ideas for treatment options that could benefit you. I hope it works well for you.

I agree with Judy, there is no value in forcing yourself to relive anything negative.

Hi LeeAnn! That was a big decision and I think a good one... I, myself, do not like change, but I'm trying to become more "open" minded and receptive of it... When is your appt????

Let us know how you like the new Doc..... hugz.....

Sally ~ Thanks for the laugh. Yep! it rhymed

I really hate giving up my current neuro, he really is a sweetheart. My current neuro used to keep 2 offices, his main one in Denver and another one in the north area. About 8 years ago he decided to quite commuting between the two.

My current neuro worked in the north office 2 or 3 days a week as did a couple of his associates. As my neuro was transitioning out of the north office he had another neuro working in the office full time which is my soon to be new neuro.

Have I now confused everyone

The plus for me is doctor **** (not his real name, just what I think of him) does not have privliges at the connecting Hospital and I have not seen where he has an office in the medical building.....yes, I actually checked, like I said, it's about self-preservation. It's really creepy to be stalked by a doctor....they have your personal information.....phone number and address. I have absolutely no desire to ever set eyes on doctor **** ever again.

Thanks every one......

BTW ~ my appointment is August 2nd.

Sounds good to me AMN

Actually, I think I may have freaked him out one time......we passed on the road going different directions.....we saw each other and I flipped my car (suburban) around to follow him and he picked up speed pretty fast

Hey Snoopy, that's great that you are moving forward with a new neuro. Self-preservation is good, really good.

I can just see you doing a u-turn in a suburban and following this guy. I bet it did freak him out! I would love to have seen the look on his face!

AMN is a great stalker BTW! Be careful....be vewwy careful....

LOL.....I've heard that about AMN.

I found suburbans aren't real good at making u-turns on a two lane road but where there's a will there's a way

I couldn't see his face only the white hair blowing in the wind (he was in a convertible w/the top down) but the 20 something twit that would assist him and that he screwed on the side looked a little scared (she kept looking back)

Yep, I'm a little warped
