I am going through a long drawn out process of being diagnosed with some other autoimmune disease. We're getting closer as several things have been ruled out and my blood work has changed as well as a few clinical signs and symptoms. Anyhow, I don't want to bore you with all that craziness. I am thinking of going on some sort of modified anti-inflammatory diet to see if I can calm the inflammation down. I hate taking steriods. They are helping but, I rather just try the foods.
I found a list of anti-inflammatory foods and I'm going to buy those foods when I get my next SSDI check next week. Have any of you tried eating mostly anti-inflammatory foods? What foods did you eat? My list does have a number of spices (turmeric being one of them) and I plan on using those spices in my cooking. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions would be great!!! |

Trish, so sorry to hear of another challenge for you...I've never actually tried an anti-inflammatory diet. Read up on the Swank diet. Some swear by it.
I hope you get guidance in this search...it's so difficult trying to find the answers by yourself. Do you have an opportunity to deal with a nutritionist to help you? I pray that you find answers to give you some healing...you've been a true fighter!

I do have the Swank Diet book. I'll have to check it out again and see what it entails and if it will help with a number of autoimmune diseases including MS. Thanks for reminding me about it. I know that some MSers have had luck with the diet and can feel a difference if they go off of it. I can't remember who on here was on it though.
I have my list ready as well as some supplements I am supposed to be taking (mainly probiotics). I eat a lot of the things on the list of foods but I eat other things that aren't on the list. Those are the things that will be hardest to give up. I love sandwiches!!! They are my go to meal. |
