Default OT to those who live in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky

I don't know how may of you know about our little jewel we have down here in southern Indiana, Holiday World. It's a family owned theme park that is seriously competing with the big guys. It has world class award winning wooden roller coasters, a large water park and international awards for overall friendliness, cleanliness and overall character. We are going there on Monday. I was really concerned about the heat, I have all my cooling products in a bag and ready. But the high is just supposed to be 85!

My granddaughter, turning 6 next month, is coming over to have her first trip to Holiday World. Her 8 month old baby sister won't think much of it though. My daughter printed out the map of Holiday World and Trinity has been carrying it around with her all week showing everyone where she is going.

Oh, all drinks and sunscreen are free all day, every day.

Well, Harumph!! You didn't include SW Ohio in your invitation and I've been there, I think.

Sorry Sally, just didn't think about Ohio. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Monday was the perfect weather to go. I did use my cooling vest, aka bullet proof vest. I don't even think about it looking offbeat anymore. I just know it allows me to do a one day theme park with my family. My grand kids are almost 6 yrs and the baby is 8 onths. They both enjoyed it immensly. My rather boyish newest son in law asked how you could enjoy a them park with huge roller coasters and big water park with two young children. I think by the end of the day he enjoyed himself with the two girls more than anyone else did. He took the little 8 month on for her first merry go round and he was a lot happier than her.

I was pretty tired by the end of the day but one of those 'tired but had a wonderful time and glad I did it' type tired. Then Tueday we had a little birthday party for the almost 6 year old. They live in Lexingtn and won't be able to come back for her birthday. She won't mind at all to have a birthday a little early. I think that tired me out more. I fixed just sloppy joes and fixins but was still tired. I was glad when they left this morning and I went back to sleep. I will eventually catch up.

It was about a month ago that I finally convinced my daughter that her baby was old enough that she needed to start solid food. She was hesitant because of all the mess. So she let me be the one to start it. And this week Mom swore that baby was not cutting any teeth. I found three little gems coming up out of her little mouth! Grandmas know best!!!!!

Oh, the cat is glad they are gone. She is very territorial and hisses at them and I put her in my room with the door closed the entire time they are here. She was glad to have the run of the house today.
