My cane is similar to the "HurryCane" only the base has 4 rubber feet instead of 3. The swivel of the base is a little noisy, but I don't mind being annoying to others...lol

I can't stand socks or shoes. I can't wear long pants either. I manage to wear slide on sandals (no heal strap) and flip flops...I am from the south and we do like our flip flops...lol

I use a quad cane, and inside those rubber tips are steel washers to keep the metal from the cane from poking through the rubber. You can wear out the tips and actually sharpen the edges of the washer from contact with concrete and cut your foot if it bumps you!

:D ask me how I know?

I found the problem! There's a part that screws the cane together (I don't know how to describe it) and it was loose. I tightened it and not much noise.

Ladies, I miss my shoes too!!! It took me about 8 years to finally get rid of my last pair of heels, wedges included. It truly was a sad day for me. My DD27 had to keep assuring me that flats can be cute and feminine. I still am not used to the idea of wearing flats when going out to dinner or gatherings. I stress about it every time. It's been 2 years since I gave away my beautiful maroon pumps, heeled boots, wedged sandals, etc. I'm still in mourning.:(:o

I still have one pair admittedly, I simply couldn't get rid of my plaid pumps. They're just too cute, no home will ever be good enough for those little babies but my own :p. Even if I can never wear them, I do take them out occasionally and admire them.

Good job on fixing the cane though, I wonder if I should check all the little screwy things on mine too.

I can't walk, one foot has become too fat to wear boots, but keep the boots with woven uppers. I love them! And the pairs of Frye boots. Irrational I know.

And the grey suede flats.....

Oh no, Kicker. I don't think it's irrational at all. I was right there with you until I moved and had to consolidate and downsize. I just didn't want to move all this useless stuff around. I am a shoe person. I love shoes and still dream of wearing heels or wedges again.
