Becasue of all this heat, my bladder infection, lack of sleep, time needed to recover now even after a short trip, I had to cancel a trip for my Mom. She and my brother had been planning this trip for a couple of months. We live in southern Indiana, they live in western Ky. I was going to drive Mom to Louisville tomorrow and his wife was going to meet us there and then we would repeat the trip on Suinday.

I have had to cancel trips down to see my babies, but those are just for pleasure. It still hurt me to do that. But to have to tell my Mom today that I couldn't do it, that was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Yes, she understood. That's the kind of Mom she is and that's why I love her but it doesn't make it any easier. I still say THIS DISEASE *****

Incredible. During one of my getting-frequent meltdowns yesterday, I heard myself saying, "it's not fair" for the very first time in all my years with this stupid disease.

My whole adult life, I've been a "why not me" kind of thinker and that chick has left the building. It's really not fair at all.

Thanks guys. I. like some of you am silent to my family about a lot of things. I am OK today, still a little bummed out. The weather is still terrible, my brother had some things to do that he didn't want to tell my Mom about. So I guess everything worked out OK. We'll get another weekend scheduled. I guess I owe my Mom a steak though. My brothers son is the kitchen manager at Tumbleweeds there and he was going to fix her steak personally.

Sorry I'm a little late chiming in here, Doydie! It's ok to be mad at something that has changed lives so drastically. I'm just learning from a friend of mine, that life does indeed go on, even if the changes are not what we want.

I'm not learning it very fast though, so guess I'm still a work in progress.
Steak?? sounds good! Throw one on Med Rare for me.
