Well, I've made it into Yellowstone country and it is divine! It's a little brrrr this morning, 41° but it will warm up to a balmy 67° if the weather dudes are even a little close to the mark.
I will go down to Grand Teton for the day, I hope I can contain my urge to fish long enough to make the trip through Yellowstone NP on the way! It might rain and I don't even care! I have my rainsuit and I'll just put it on and keep going. The weather doesn't take away from the beauty of a place like this! Here is a little of what I'm seeing: |
Great pictures Cin.
Be careful of those bears in yellowstone......and don't set any fires. Be careful out there dahlink..ok:hug: |
Oh I have always wanted to go there. Thanks for the great pics. And I thanks for letting me crash your fun from time to time. :D

How cool is this??? Cindy was on the webcam at Yellowstone and called me, so I was talking to her while the camera was taking her pic. She gave me some hilarious poses and Old Faithful was right behind her...
I laughed so hard and it totally made my day. Seeing her doing what she wants to do and loving it was soooo coooool!. |
hey, all, I'm still at Yellowstone. Today turned out to be a day of rest with little activity. I just relaxed all day, I was really feeling tired. This was supposed to be a fishing day but the wind was too wild and it threatened rain all day.:(
Yesterday was super fun and ended at the Old Faithful geyser with the webcam. Here's one of those shots that a friend snagged for me. I'm in light sleeves and a black vest. Also, there is a scooter involved. ;) |
Cool picture.......it looks chilly there....I like that..:D
Are you traveling tomorrow? VVROOM VVROOM!! |
Thanks, Sal, that whole webcam thing was a real kick, everyone had a great time.
Today is fishing day, all day. Yesterday, the wind was outrageous and makes it practically impossible to flyfish for an average person. For me, it's a ridiculous thing to try. I needed to rest so I took the day "off" and didn't do much of anything at all. It's supposed to reach the high 70s and calm today, so I'm counting on spending some serious time in the legendary Yellowstone River. Then on Sat. it's a combo park/fishing day. Sunday it's a driving day, a short few hours up to Helena. A good night's sleep and my guided float trip on Monday. Then, the decision whether to go on or head home. This whole trip has been such a wonder for me, I'm thankful for everything I've been able to see. |
Hi Cin!!
What river? Is it a fishing float? MORE DETAILS!! I have been following you and CBK via your pics, and FBK/FFM via her pics. Are you two gonna meet up somewhere?? The net cam at Old Faithful was hilarious! I was asleep so I missed the live shots, but the posts were so funny! I can just picture you gyrating to DM's phone directions and people there just watching you going "WHAT is she DOING???" Your pictures are tremendous and you make us feel like we are right there with ya and I for one, wish I was!!! I keep showing the man the pics and whining "we have to go out west!" "I wanna go THERE!" Keep posting pics, stay safe and have TOO MUCH FUN!! :) |
Thanks, RW, it has been magical. Yesterday (Fri) was a nightmare. The winds were so high, my fishing/wading day was terrible. I've discovered that I just don't have the strength to compete with the huge river cobble anymore. I was wicked tired last night and very upset. This is another huge part of me that has been stripped away; I actually feel violated.
Today is my last Yellowstone park day, I'll be poking around the east side of the park. I had been concentrating on the west side with all the geysers, etc. I haven't seen any bear or moose yet, so I'm hoping to spot some. It's funny, when I was a little kid, people were still feeding the bears marshmallows right from their cars! No more of that, and I'm glad. Sunday is a driving day en route to Craig, MT where Monday, I'll float fish the Little MO with a guide and I hope for less or no winds. I'm hoping like crazy that I'll get at least one big runner! |
Cindy, what wonderful pictures!
We went to Yellowstone a few years ago and hated to leave. If you get to Idaho there are Ice Caves that are truly awesome to see. I'm hoping Monday is windless for you ;) |
