I'm sorry to hear about your milk allergy. My husband and his brother have had them since birth, so we have always used SILK which is a SOY Milk product in place of milk in our home. I think the Soy milk is sweeter than regular milk, and there are some studies that say Soy is better for your heart health. We simply substitute the SILK for milk in all recipes, and the good thing is it lasts a LOT longer than regular milk. Kebsa is correct. Lactaid is used for people with lactose intolerances, and can be bought over the counter at any grocer or pharmacy. Once you get used to using all soy products, you won't miss milk after a while. They even make Ice-Cream sandwiches with soy milk that you can buy at the grocer. We've lived near a Trader Joe's ever since we were married, and they have many items geared towards people who only consume soy rather than milk products. I think you can even go online and buy some of their goodies. They have a lot of GREAT food there, and some of their sauces are just out of this world. I give some of their foods away as Christmas gifts, and when we have secret santas at our office parties. I'm glad you feel better.:) All the best, Chris |
