Just wanted to say Hi everyone. Hope that all is a little better today. My MRI that I was supposed to have today was canceled. It will be tomorrow. I don't like the MRI. But take the med. before so it sort of helps calm me down. Does anyone else have to take meds. before the MRI? I just can't stand being closed in. Even when I am in an elevator I don't like it. It's time now to get things ready to take to my daughter's house tomorrow for the dog. She is a dog groomer and she is going to groom my dog while I am at the hospital for the tests. Have a good-night.

Hiya, Joyce, a lot of people I've known do take a little somthing before and MRI. It doesn't bother me enough to need to do it myself, but I admit that I prefer to do it at night, right before bed, and I have to take the anti-spaz meds to hold still.
I also take some CDs along and mentally attend Les Mis or Phantom, or Rent while I'm in there. Too bad there is no good soundtrack for a major demolition project because that's what the MRI sounds like! Just take it easy and it will end, ole girl. Have fun with your nice, clean doggy! ![]()

Can't stand the fracking MRI's. The vibrations and sounds reverb through the ol' bod for hours and hours. My nerves are frazzled and I get so cranky. Maybe some good drugs are just what I need.

Welcome, Joyce.
![]() ![]() I decided, after my last MRI, that I would never have another, unless they suspected something other than MS. I figured they are too expensive and unwarrented, after you have been DX....the same for LPs. After 40+ years with MS, I think I know more than they do..LOL! Let us know how it goes.

Well I made it thru the MRI the med did help. They were checking my neck. I have been complaining of the terrible pain in my ear, left side of face and neck for such a long time. Always was told don't worry. It is only inflamation of the muscles. But things just kept getting worse. So they decided to check and make sure there is nothing there that they can't feel or see with the other scope that they were using. I won't know the results until I go to the Drs. office Nov.13th. I hate when they make you wait so long to get results of a test. Does anyone else have this problem with their doctor.Too many tests not enough answers. The only answer you have after the test that you still have that banging that reminds me of a "Jack Hammer"that they use to break into hard cement or rock. I will let you know what the results are when I get them. Thanks for caring.

Hi Joyce!
Glad you made it through the MRI in one piece!! Do they have open MRI's anywhere near you? The "tube" doesn't bother me and the noise makes me feel like I'm inside a video game! Don't care too much for the gadolinium (sp?) though, especially when it leaks outside the veins. Wow, never had so much pain -- almost threw up it hurt so much. It only happened once with a guy technician -- figures. Sorry guys!! lol Sally, I agree with you and so does my neuro. Yep, we've got MS and not much is going to change. The expense is outrageous! I'm afraid that's the story of MS, Joyce, everything takes time......tests, diagnosis, etc. Try to hang in there. Take care.......... ![]()

Judy's right, open MRIs are the best but I think it can be embarrassing.

I had one on Sat, and called dr office to give them my phone # at the office, they said he would call today with the results. That would be nice at least just to know something,
This time they didn't play music for me, instead they put earplugs in, so Icouldn't even hear the tech talking to me, and it took forever too, My dr's have always precertified the mri's Ihave had. and the ins co has always paid most...so maybe theyshould try that too. My dr is fighting with my ins co over provigil. the ins co doesn't want to pay for it. It does help some with the fatigue. Hope things go better. Geri |
