   Hey Sally: Just got home a little while ago and read your post. As one mother to another I can feel your pain. There is really no words I can say to heal it. Just that I am here to listen and support you. Take care of yourself and remember we are all here, (YOUR ADOPTED FAMILY) :grouphug::grouphug:

I have felt like a millstone around their neck in the past and have been aware of trying to be NOT so dependent on them. I do as much for myself as I am able. I do depend on their love and caring and actually wanting me with them as part of the Family, at times like this. Shame on her and shame on me for letting it slide. My world has been rocked and I don't know what to do. |
Hang on, Sal. I think those who are closest sting us most. Ever notice that? I'm sure that she meant no outward malice, but when it comes to family, I find that the absence of thoughtfulness can really burn. Family dynamics are the ultimate wonder of the world.
My annoying brother and his ultra-annoying son (9) finally just left and we are astounded at the quiet, for which, we are especially thankful this day. So, today is my thanksgiving day.;) I love my brother and his family by way of the natural, biological link, but if I met him as a stranger, I'd probably run in the other direction! |
Sally, I'm so sorry your DD was such a bone head. It seems family is the best and the worst thing in the world. I know as happy as I was to have my family around me for the holiday, I was so happy to get home to my quiet couch. So was my Dad.
Enjoy your leftovers today. BTW the Amish pies were yucky. Commercially made, more filling then fruit, and pretty tasteless. What a waste of $9-10 each. No, more! :( I'm looking forward to leftovers as much as yesterday. I'm sure I won't want anymore tomorrow, so I better eat up today. :D  |

I always take everything to heart and wallow in it, but, thanks to your sage words, I shall not. Thanks.. |
well sally, you just tell her to write it down....you are coming for christmas. i guess it just irked me. my brother passed away in october. the first holidays were the hardest. it made me sad that you were alone. |

My thoughts are, that even if you don't especially want to do something...you still want to be wanted and asked...KWIM? Sheesh, sorry about the pies!! I've always found Krogers Homemade pies to be the best. I always get apple, pecan and pumpkin. I hope my DD got Apple ( my fav) or pecan...yummmm. I'm not crazy about pumpkin but it's traditional..:) I'm glad you made it to your couch...Me Too!! |

I know...my Brother dying is what made this expecially hard this year and so hard to understand how she could do it. Cindy is so right....she was not thinking of me, only herself....thoughtlessness is how I shall perceive it. Thanks.. |

Sal - I'd rather be invited and decline, then to be left out of the decision making too. |
Uh Oh Taffers. You better duck and run when FG gets back.
Nice win Hawaii ...good luck WAC!! |
I'm back.

Now they have to beat Washington. We didn't. Congratulations! The longest WAC Championship winning streak has been busted....:( But we had a good run while it lasted! I missed you guys too...thanks! It was definitely an interesting TG...:winky: |
Sally
I am sorry about your DD. I don't have any children, but I do understand what you are going through....family can have it's own dynamics sometimes that is very difficult to understand. I often wonder what motivates people, including family, to do the things they do to others. Thoughtless or not, common courtesy has just been lost. :Scratch-Head: Shall we all go paw through the lost and found? |

That's okay. Come Monday! I can wear my U of H clothes to school! Oh yeah! (better call DS and ask for championship t-shirt and he will respond with..."What game?" "Huh?" He hangs out in the chem room way too much!) |
DD came over today with my weekly groceries, 4 rug rats in tow and leftover TG goodies. I stuffed myself, of course. :p:p I opened one of the med rolls and put a little of everything on top, covered it with gravy and nuked it..Yummmmmmmmmm.
The Kiddles were wonderful, as usual. I told DD that I would get her another xmas tree, since AJ , the youngest rug rat tore their old one down (literally:D) He tried to climb it. Poor DD. She was so used to having 3 sweet little girls and then the 2 boys came along, filled with all that nasty testosteron.. How did all of you survive? |
Other than the football game disappointment, all is well. ;)
I am glad that your DD came over with some leftovers Sal! Leftovers are always great. We have some leftover turkey, but that's about all we have from our feast! |
OUR LAD IS HOME!!!!!!!! HE'S HIDING IN SOCIAL CHAT!!!!!!
HOOORAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :D:Head-Spin::Excited::Thanx: |
It was a good Thanksgiving considering all the changes that are now in my life. The real funny thing that happen was, my daughter and I and the dogs took a little walk in the back of her property. My new puppy saw the pond that she has on the property. She went straight for it. She was jumping in the water and trying to catch it with her mouth. Meanwhile we are trying to get her to come out because it was very cold that day plus I was afraid something would happen. As you know she is only 4 months. Well the inevitable happened. She went down. I was histerical but thank god she came right up and started to swim to us, came out of the pond and shook off and started chasing the other dogs like nothing happened. My daughter in her funny way, says Well Now You Know She Can Swim. Hope everyone is well after all the calories that we indulged in. But that is part of life, you stuff yourself on holidays and then suffer after. Take care everyone. Joyce :hug:
