Thanks a bunch for the hint. :hug: |
Hi, I wanted to tell you I got some support garments:)? anyway....they have a cross over in the back, in the bra strap area that really supports the back and all the way down also. When I got to my office this morning they were here, so I put one on and it really did help support my back while throwing the mail and also just working in the office. It is now pain free, but quite a bit better.
they are Kymaro body shaper. info@bjgd.com bjgd.com if I saw that right. |
Support For Those Aching Muscles And Ligaments
Postmaster1992;
So glad you got some relief with a support garment. I would encourage everyone to try some sort of support gear. It has really helped me do more things. I was walking for awhile for 20 mins at a time and my upper back would ache sooooooo bad. I thought about bad posture and how I am always looking down....(I tend to watch my feet) so I bought a shoulder brace. WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT! Our muscles and ligaments ache, so taking ANY undue strain off of them is key. Not everything will help, but its sure worth a try.:hug: Since the cold tightens my muscles, I am now considering a vest that heats by battery power for up to 5 hours. As soon as I get cold, my neck and upper back go right into spasm and don't stop. I'm hoping this will let me get out in the winter here in Michigan with less discomfort. |
siezures and MS
Hi Everyone
Thanks for all the support and encouragment. I must have been more worn out then I'd imagined. Thursday afternoon I took a 3 hour nap and then slept 12 hours that night. Last night I was up til 3 am and up at 10 am, so I must be caught up. My back still aches, but I'm going to have to try some type of support garment as suggested. It should be just the ticket, as it is my uppper back that is the problem. I will try the Aleve, but don't hold out much hope. I used to get some relief from Wellbutrin(took for 4 years) until 2002 when I had a grand mal siezure, and dislocated my shoulder somehow. Nothing was detected in testing so it was blamed on the Wellbutrin and I've suffered greatly since. I had a mild siezure in 2006 after starting Methotrexate 7mg. So I was tested and taken off that med. I've been going to all kinds of docs these last few weeks and went to see a Neuro about getting off Trileptal. Seems that the siezures are a component of MS for some (including me). I've got a leison on my left side of my brain, that has slowed my right side and shows up abnormal in an EEG for years. It was both reassuring and scary to be told that. I did get the dosage reduced from 5-150mg daily to 4 tabs. Woo Hoo. I am more disabled in my arms and hands compared to my legs. I guess it's good, but I sure don't want the legs to go downhill, then where will I be. Anybody else have siezures with their MS? Thanks for being here :grouphug: |
Oh boy, I'm so glad that you've had some good rest! Try to take it easy on yourself, it's hard this time of year, but your naps are so important.
No seizures for me, thankfully, and I hope to avoid them.:) |
Hi Bethy..:Wave-Hello: That was one long nap..wow. I've been missing you.
I'm glad you finally got some answers from your Doc....That helps to keep us sane.:p Sorry about your seisures. I don't think I've ever had one and would like to keep it that way. Take care of yourself and get plenty of naps....They're golden...I love my naps.:) I just woke up from one, now. :hug: |
neuro--whining
Hi fellow nappers!!:D
I dream of naps....is that possible?:rolleyes: Beth, I hope you are somewhat rested and ready for the holidays coming up. We will all whine later. My friend Anna is going to be cooking and i will be...Napping!! haha It seems resting and napping are all I have been doing lately if I am not in the office. I had a typo on my earlier reply to this one about the control garment, the pain is better, not gone. Right now it is raging. So take care and maybe try one, short periods of time first, otherwise your back hurts more when you take it off, if you can get it off. :rolleyes: I had a terrible time trying to get the thing off the first time i wore it! Sore tired body and hands and arms in pain, it wasn't easy, i almost strangled myself.:eek: Take care and lots of hugs, Geri |
Geri, sweety, if you don't mind, I think I won't get one of those contraptions....I'm a big enough menace to myself without any help, TYVM..:D
I have enough trouble just putting on my regular clothes and a bra???? forget it....LOL! Are you sure they didn't put you in a straight jacket..:eek: I am so sorry for your pain and I do hope you find relief soon..:hug: |
:D Sally I don't think it was a straight jacket. But...wait a minute...ummm
Oh well maybe it was. But some days it doesn't pay to chew thru the leather straps. |
