Hi Mary Ann,

CONGRATULATIONS! I don't know how I missed this thread but what positive and refreshing news. I'm so happy for you and for Monty as I'm sure you'll be a great owner/partner.

Let us know what the 30 hours of training will entail. I'm very interested in your story.

I'm not too awful far from you as I live in Richmond, VA. Salem is a beautiful part of the state and you actually get "SNOW!"

This is so exciting as I'm a dog lover too. I have a Jack Russell named Pongo from WD's 101 Dalmations, and a white West Highland Terrier named Belle from WD's Beauty and the Beast. They take good care of me as I'm homebound.

I LOVE DOGS!

Craig, you are so sweet! It snowed this morning and covered everything, it was so beautiful. Pongo and Belle sound like they are great dogs. I'm glad you have them in your life.

I am having such a wonderful time. Yesterday, we worked with Monty bringing me the phone, and helping me to get off the toilet. Today, we worked with him bumping a door to close it, and going to my husband and barking when I give him the "help" command.

Next Thursday, he is spending the day with us (his trainer will drop him off in the morning and them pick him up that afternoon). Then, he will spend the entire weekend with us. After that, we will start working on going out in public together.

Thanks so much for being interested in the training aspect.

MaryAnn It is great to hear how you are making out with your partner. Sounds like everything is going great.
Keep us up dated on your progress and some pics.

My German Shepard, Sage is her name is a great friend. I live by myself and as I said in one of my other posts she just has natural instincts to know when I need help. I know she won't know how to do the things your Monty is learning but just having her with me is a great comfort.

Good Luck----------Joyce

Oh, what fun, Mary Ann. I am soooo jealous.

Are you going to bring Monty on our cruise? He could be a great help, if the seas get choppy. And of course, he will enjoy all of the fesivities.

I can't wait to see pics of him.

Joyce: Thanks! Sage sounds like a super dog (I love her name). I'm glad you have her.

Sally: We're in! Can't wait to go somewhere warm, where I can stop wearing sweatpants for awhile and put on some shorts instead.
