If anyone wants to try staying up almost all night, I'd bet you wouldn't have much problem sleeping the next night, especially after working all day!;) I still get to eat any seafood and don't have a need for Benadryl though. I don't know what I would do if I had an allergy to seafood. I LOVE it! YUMALISH-isn't that what that Rachel woman says all the time? (She drives me crazy )

My dad HATED taking call when he was younger, and as he got older, he hated it more. When the hospital decided to cut his hours a few years back, he was ecstatic! It meant no more call! He loves that he doesnt have to do call any more. (and he's going to retire part time fairly soon now too)

I have had insomnia that lasted more than two days in a row. In April, I took a trip to the Badlands with my boyfriend (South Dakota USA for the people who dont live in America...where Mt Rushmore is) and the night before we left, I could not sleep (the quickly forming UTI could have had something to do with it, had to stop halfway across the state to stop at a hospital for an antibiotic)

After driving the entire day to get to Rapid City, we got to the hotel and I was totally exhausted. We went and got dinner and then went to the hotel to go to bed. Boyfriend fell asleep fairly quickly (head hit the pillow, the snoring started about 3 minutes later...loud snoring)

I was up until 3 or 4am. Took a flexeril to get to sleep, which didnt really help.

I finally got my PDA out and my headphones and listened to a Harry Potter novel. Fell asleep around 4...woke up at 8am before the boyfriend did. Couldnt get back to sleep, so went and took a shower and was wide awake the entire day. Went to bed that night and still could not sleep till very late. (and we saw Rushmore that day, did a LOT of walking and I was seriously tired)

Next day, again, I was the first one up after 4 or 5 hours sleep (and I'd bought foam earplugs because of boyfriend snoring) Sometimes I just have extended amounts of time where I want to sleep, but apparently the brain wont let me.

Like tonight. (here we go again) I'm going to lay down in a minute and hope that sleep happens eventually.

Last night, I slept like a baby. Only woke up once to go potty..:D It must be all this talk about sleeping that put me to sleep..LOL!

This is what I did...I layed down to watch TV. I forget what, now, but something I really wanted to watch to the end.........I fell asleep.

Chris is right...trying to stay awake is the best Aphrodisiac(SP)..:p

Benadryl

Yes, I also have the opposite reaction to Benadryl and also to Nyquil..... Interesting..... - Denise (Babycakes)

I'm having a bad problem with insomnia also. One night I gave up and actually took one of my Ambien instead of the Benadryl. I lay awake and go to sleep at 5 or 6 and wake up ant noon. I have even had an appointment in the early morning and gotten up at six and still had insomnia that night. So I don't think it is related to the time of day I wake up. My body wakes up around 8 PM. That's when I feel energized, my mind more alert. So last night I took a secret stash of an old prescription of Baclofen. I can't remember what the dose is but I take 1/2 a tablet. I slept so soundly that when I woke up I found my cat sleeping between my legs instead of at the bottom of the bed. I don't know what I will do when I am out of that secret stash
