Default Cherie

Could you please give me some reliable links for LDN and do I need my Dr to write a prescription? Then send it to Skips?

That's probably why I don't get hooked on meds. I am so med sensitive. 1/2 mg of that stuff puts me to sleep!

You should see me on Baclofen or Zanaflex...want some free entertainment?

Hi Leeann, Jim uses as you know. He said it's not so much the pain that he uses it for, but more so his shaking and clonus. Which in turn helps with the pain because he's not shaking anymore. It also helps with his appetite.

Hope you find something that works for you.

I have considered the same thing in fact Sandy and I were just discussing last night her mailing me magic brownies.....we decided that was a bit risky LOL.

But I feel your pain....really.....the spasms are what gets me,i've tried the ad's,narcotics, baclofen, neurontin which I still take, and zanaflex, I like Cheryl though get loooooopy I fall asleep within 30 min of taking it and then I can't sleep for a day afterward!

Hi Snoopy!

I take percocet 5/325 two or three pills per day. It is the only thing I've found to help my pain. I definitely understand your hesitation. I come from a long line of addicts on both sides of the family tree. I just make sure I don't take any more than what my neuro has prescribed.

I can't smoke weed because I could be going back to work within the next month, they drug test. I find it pretty funny that I can take narcotic pain meds and work doesn't have a problem with that LOL!

There's also that stigma that you MUST be a drug addict if you use percocet, vicodin etc. I just ignore that nonsense because we are just doing what we need to do to have a decent quality of life.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Sandy, there's alot I can deal with but this pain is not one, of course I have been dealing for 5 months. Did Jim ever try weed for pain or that just wasn't an issue for him?

Renee, my neuro made the comment today that I seem to be med sensitive (side affects). I believe I can handle Klonopin because I have been using it as needed since Feb 2004

Joelle, I am hoping if I try weed for the pain one or 2 hits will be all I need - we shall see

Cheryl, take pics the next time you use Baclofen or Zanaflex - I could use some entertainment

He does in sense because by stopping the clonus it helps stop the pain. It is different for everyone. The best advice I can give is to try it and see what it does. It doesn't work for everyone from what I gather. Jim's doctor is behind him on using it and is trying to get a study started. Jim is on the list of participants. He takes it like he takes his meds. Three times a day at med time.

He does take Methadone as well though. It doesn't help with the clonus pain for some reason. But when he smokes the weed it calms the clonus down and helps the pain. If you want you can call me and Jim can explain better since he is the one actually "feeling" the effects.

Thanks Sandy. My pain has nothing to do with clonus or spasticity, it is completely sensory.
