Default my sense of taste is very confused...

ugh.. i hate it when this happens... nothing tastes right.. unless its salty or loaded with sugar.. even then it still tastes a bit "off" if that makes sense.. this really isn't a new Sx for me but it is the first time it has lasted more then a day or so.. it started after my last round of IVSM the beginning of this month.. and just keeps getting worse.. i guess its not the worst thing... but it sure is annoying.. wonder if it will ever go back to normal..

Understand. Mine comes and goes. All depends on whether or not my tongue is numb. Hope it calms down soon for you.

Plus side, My hubby can have all the spicy food he wants when it's like that and it doesn't bother me.

I have heard of others with this, but it's never happened to me. I get weird smells instead, and not necessarily nice ones! So far, it's always let up in time (usually about 2 weeks).

Hope you get to tasting better.

Steroids can do that to you, Punk. Some people say it leaves a metallic kind of taste in the mouth. My infusion center gives me rootbeer or ginger candy which really helps cut it.

Give it a little time, mine always comes back to status quo.

Hi Punk,

Steroids always give me a metallic taste. Sugarless Bubble Yum works well (and blows very good bubbles). Try the peppermint.

I have days when everything tastes faintly of soap. I call those my "crash diet days" because I don't want to eat anything. But it goes away, and I'll bet yours will, too. Maybe this is a good time to eat a bunch of healthy stuff you don't usually care for!

candies can help! I used to have it with steroids. nasty!

I now have the acute sense of smell. even light perfume on some in stores or other places (church) is enough to send me screaming for the exit.

ONE spray is more than enough!!! I cant tell you how many smells over power you when you dont feel good.

Hey PDizzle, has it affected your "taste" in music?
