Thanks everyone. I do have a call into my neuro. Now I'm just waiting for him to return my call.
This is an awful feeling! You are absolutely right AMN i'm not going to fight it. I am going to lay back down in a few minutes and hopefully it will take its course. I feel like i've been in a fight with a mac truck (by the way, the truck won) I'll let you all know what the neuro says (hopefully i won't sleep through the return call) Take care everybody

It did work at the time, though not much now. I don't fall asleep early but I partly blame myself for that. I get too much stimulus from t.v. and the computer. To me that is to blame as much as or maybe more than the MS. I must learn to shut that stuff down. It's as addictive as drugs and smoking!!! The only time I've slept as long as you mentioned was when I had the flu (intestinal variety). Even then I'd wake up to puke! I always remembered what was going on also. I think you are wise to call your neuro. Good Luck. Tootsie

I wish I could sleep longer than I do, but you have a record in my book. Sounds like you may have a touch of the flu in addition to normal fatigue or depression.
My DD can sleep for days if she is depressed and won't wake to eat or use the bathroom. I watch for these signs with her to detect if she is going through something that she needs to talk about. Usually boy trouble (thankfully, something we can work thru) Whatever is going on, I hope you feel better really soon!

Neuro called back and told me pretty much what AMN said. Stay in bed. He will call me tomorrow and if I still feel this way he will take some sort of action (didn't ask dummy me)
I'm not depressed that I know of. I usually know when I am down about something. I just hate not having control of this situation. I'm sure you all know how that feels. Thanks you guys talk to you soon

I have done this on several occassions. I did remember, however, that my children would come in and check on me periodically but have done it as much as 3 days straight and then when it finally passed - I was back up and going like normal - working and everything but when it hits, nothing can get me out of bed, I just cannot go period.
It is your lack of memory that is somewhat concerning though - glad you called your Neuro...

(((Beth))) I too have been like that. The last time it was that bad was when I was in a flare and had the steroids. I just couldn't stay awake. I was rattling things off to my kids. Asking DD if it was OK to put a towel between my legs because I was too tired to get off the couch. I even, apparently, sent the kids to the store, gave them money for it, wrote them a list and some time in my wakefulness, commented on all the food in the refrig and asked where we got. LOL. I had no clue about any of it.
I was this way for a week! During the flare and getting the steroids, I somehow managed to get a virus. My WBC was really high. Do you think you're coming down with something? I agree with others. The memory thing, although I can certainly understand from being that way my self, it is a concern that you should talk to your neuro about. Please, let us know how you are doing. Sleep well. Dream of the beach! |

I am glad you called the doc.
Sleeping, I believe, is your natural defense to healing itself. As for sleeping so hard and not having a memory....that came with my attack from you know where. I still sleep a lot.... 10 - 12 hours a day.... Last year I was sleeping 20-22 hours a day.... Make sure you do drink water! |
