I went to bed Friday night around 11:00 pm. I did not become fully conscience until Sunday at 5:00 pm
My husband told me he would wake me every couple of hours on Saturday and I would just tell him I don't feel well and fall back to sleep. I don't remember any of this. All I know is I didn't get up to eat or go to the bathroom or anything. When I did wake up Sunday I was very groggy and felt as though I hadn't slept in a while. I fell back to sleep around 8:00 Sunday and slept until 6:00 this morning. I still feel weak and fatigued. Has this ever happened to anyone else. I lost a whole day and it scares me. Even this morning I feel drugged. Should I call the Neuro? Am I perhaps having a weird exacerbation? I have never felt this bad before and I'm a little uneasy. Any thoughts?

I've never slept that long - sounds very weird to me. Did you eat or drink anything new on Friday - or take a new medication? Sometimes combining certain medications can cause an adverse effect. As much as I wish I could sleep longer than five hours at a time I don't think I'd want to do what you did!! Plus, that's a heck of a long time to not use the bathroom. I would definitely bring it up to your doctor. Hope you're feeling better this morning.

When my son, who has Crohn's, was in the middle of a really bad relapse he slept more than 15 hours a day. I think when we have chronic illnesses sometimes our bodies are telling us to rest to help the body try to heal itself. Hope you feel better today, Beth

Hi Beth~~ That is a long time to sleep. Since you still feel druggy and groggy, I think you should call your Dr and let them know about this.
Please keep us posted on how your'e doing, OK?? Have a good cup of coffee to see if that wakes ya up.

its not the long sleep that worried me, it the amnesia of the events. When your husband brings you to a wake ful state and you cannot remember, well, that is worrisome.
please call your MD.

Thanks for your replys. No new meds and I am eating healthier than I have in a long time. It just scares me that Saturday and part of Sunday is such a blur to me.
I will give the doc a call this morning when they open. Hopefully it is just a fluke. I do have fatigue issues but never like this.

Beth,
Please let us know what the doctor says - Chris can sleep 10-16 hours at a time but never that long and especially not remembering anything or even having to go to the bathroom. Hope you feel better soon ((((beth))))

Yes, when I've been in exacerbations I've averaged 15-20 hours of sleep per day. I'm glad you're going to call it in to your neuro, these are the things that at least help them know your course with this fun little disease.
Beth, your body obviously requires it right now, please do your best to allow it, denying yourself that time for damage control will only prolong things if it is an exacerbation. Feel better, little friend.

Awww...Bethie Poo, promise you will call the neuro!! Ooops, just looked at the time, did you call the doc yet?
You're probably just tired from all that mailbox sitting! I have slept like 19 hours and didn't feel refreshed when I woke up. I have had the loss of memory also but the sleepiness didn't go along with that experience. I agree the loss of memory is more worrisome than the fatigue. Let us know what the doc says!
