I was referred to a local ENT Audiologist specialist for a hearing evaluation as my wife suggest it.
Now I know I'm a man and we have a genetic predisposition to not listen to our wives (on occassion ) so the women say. My problem is I "hear" my wife and see her talking to me but what my brain is processing is different to when I ask if she said such and such, she looks at me like, "who are you having a conversation with?" I had my hearing test today and aside from a tad of wax in both ears, I scored in the low normal range. On the verbal test I scored 96% right and 92% left ear. Not too bad according to them. My conclusion is I have a cognitive challenge when it comes to interpreting what is being said to me. BTW, I have this problem watching TV and football games. What I think they said and what they said are two different things. Meanwhile, my wife has decided to stay with me.............after 33 years of training me why should she give up now? Right?
