Good Luck Carrie:hug: I'll be thinking about you:)

Good luck, ckepi. I'll be thinking of you. I get to go on Thursday, after mine was rescheduled 2 weeks ago. :o I abhor going also. I'm terribly clautrophobic, but it's something we must do, so "chin up"!:)

3 words you don't want to hear during an MRI

Well it went fine last night of course I won't get my results till I go see the Neuro but I knew that. I figure if she doesn't call me to come in sooner than my scheduled appointment it is fine.

So any way I'm in there and just as a set is finishing I here one of the techs say "wow oh *****".

Didn't need to hear those 3 little words in the middle of my MRI ;).

I don't think she was refering to me and I don't think she realized I could hear her, it was one of those moments when the machine just kicked off .

I didn't tell her I heard her because I didn't want to make her feel bad, they were very nice ladies.

It went much quicker than I thought though it only took about an hour and 15 minutes. I don't know if thats good because they were able to just get what they needed or if I should be nervous that they forgot something.

It just seemed that it didn't take nearly as long after the die was injected as it did before the die went in. This is only my 3rd one, the first 2 were last year during my flare and I can't remember if it was like that last year to, as far as it taking less time once the die is injected.

Thoughts on that?

Thank you all for your well wishes! :grouphug:

I'm glad it went well. Mine usually take between an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half, but I'm asleep, and don't remember a thing until they pull me out of the machine and tell me it's over!:D

Koala77 02-06-2008 07:26 PM

I'm glad that it went well for you too. I think I'd freak if it had been me that heard those 3 words during the scan, because I'd be thinking there was something wrong with me!

My next MRI is next week, and I'm not looking forward to it. I never used to be claustrophobic until I started having these. I may have to get a mild sedative this time, something I've not done in the past, but I seem to be getting more nervous with each one.

NurseNancy 02-06-2008 07:32 PM

mine took about that amt of time too.
i hope your mri is stable.

keep us posted.

Oh Cat you poor thing..........our thoughts with ya hun.........

and as for you Carrie...........at least ya didnt break the machine? right? you didnt did you???

Do you have an appt for the neuro? You will let us know what ya find out wont ya?
I guess if ya had needed a laugh it would have been a great time to have one with the gal who was cussin in there during your MRI...she probably would have been good for a few chuckles as her face turned red.....

Your just to good of a soul I suppose huh?

With the spasticity I have right now there is no way (well unless they knocked me out) that I could have laid there for an hour or more..........

Glad its over for ya girlfriend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks FlyFishing Momma

We are having a bit of a snow storm now, just called a taxi and they only have 3 cabs on the roads tonight. Anyways I booked him and he will send a cab out to my house for 3:30 am. Hope the weather does not go to bad and hope the roads are decent.

Oh well if I'm late, I'm sure they will understand. Mother nature eh?
