have any of you had your toes/balls of feet feel as if they were swollen, feeling like something between toes and numbness. Had this for long time, but today I realized that I can not close (right word) scrunch? toes anymore. Cannot stand on tiptoes anymore. Legs are a 'B' today with knees killing me as well. I'm on a truck load of meds but it does not help.
thanks |

Sorry about that, Cat.
I had a chat with my neuro last Friday. I happened to mention that my feet had been bothering me. (My symptoms really don't sound like yours, though.) He actually made a note of it so I asked him why. He said that means the lesion in my neck is healing. I really can't expound on this, but maybe someone else will. My feet aren't excrutiating, but I've decided to give up pumps for awhile. Good luck to you!

I remember the very DAY I discovered that one!
I was referred to a new doc in town, who was teaching Qigong, to improve range of motion, and stretch and strengthen my muscles: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qigong anyway, the very FIRST position is like a sort of slow-mo jumping jack, where you take a long slow deep breath, and bring your arms from your sides - up overhead, while rising onto tiptoes. and not for the LIFE of me could I stay balanced without keeling over! good sturdy hiking boots, or walking shoes... yep, THAT's the ticket! so, no more tippy-toes, OR twinkle-toes for this girl...

Haven't had that with my feet, but with my hand. Fingers felt swollen, can't make a fist. I can tell they're not really swollen though cuz my rings still fit right.
I don't know why it happens, but I guess it does fairly often because the neuro asks me - an a lot of us - to try to walk tiptoes. They're seeing if we can, and when we stop being able to.

Wow!! This is exactly what mine feel like. I was never really able to explain it in words but that's it. This is the only remainder from my flare in August so I am assuming it is permanent for me. My left foot feels this way from the ball up to toes and my right foot isn't as bad, mostly my toes now. Some days I feel it more than other days. It seems to be when my feet are cold it's worse but I really can't pin-point it exclusively to that. I do try to keep my socks on most of the time. When I wear shoes I don't feel the tingling as much but do have that heavy feeling. Some days I can curl my toes and some days they barely curl. Today, I can actually feel the tightness all the way up to my arch--don't have socks on so may go put them on to try and help. It's not painful to me so I am not on any meds.
I hope you can find some relief.

I always feel as if something is in my shoe under the ball of my foot or between my toes. I am constantly taking my shoes off and checking. I have switched shoes and sneakers, sometimes I wear slippers just because I can't stand the feeling!
I also have double jointed toes and lately I have noticed that the joints don't "pop" anymore. It used to be kind of cool to freak people out with them, now they are almost normal, and that's abnormal for me. Not sure if it is just age or what...

Sorry, Lime Kitty. Do we have tip toes?? Not funny, I know. I can stand on my tip toes, if I hold onto something for dear life, but cannot do it otherwise, without falling over.
I am not cursed with chronic nerve pain such as you are. You've been struggling with the pain for quite sometime, huh? It's a real shame that they can't find something to give you relief. It's just not fair.

I have this "somewhat" on one foot. Have had for months... since before dx. I "love"...(NOT)...... these little surprises I hear about along the way, that make me say "okay...that, TOO, was the MS that I didn't know I have. I'm starting to thing "everything" needs to be blamed on ms... On the more positive side of things... it's at least some consolatioin to not be alone! Good luck! Best Wishes!

[QUOTE=CayoKay;208135]I remember the very DAY I discovered that one!

Yah the kneeling down and falling over as if your drunk. Crap I was in a store a while back and somethings I wanted were on the bottom shelf, so no problem I'll just get down and get what I want. Holy Crap, I fell, down. OK so no big deal, a fluke. I had to do it again and again I fell. But I did not learn, until I did it about 5 times felt like an idiot. The manager came over gave me a chair and I just sat for about 5 minutes and felt like a complete fool. What were they thinking? Did they think I was stoned? I just wanted to get the 'H' out of there. So I went to the cash, the people there were so nice, they brought all my purcashes to the cash and followed me just in case I passed out. I paid for it, they brought all to the car, and just sat had a cig while the car ran with the air. What's up with that? I find that it happens all the time. MS WTF have U done to me ?
