I swear that I looking for problems in my good eye because I am scared to death that I am going to wake up one day and be totaly blind. I thnik that I am starting in the other eye with the ON but I have no pain or blurry vision. I think that I am just having a little pitty party for myself and I have to stop.
I have starting today with leg pain so I know for a fact that I am having another flare. I am going to call my Neuro and see what he says, I have to wait till tomarrow he is out of the office today. I don't want to go on the IV steroids, there are too may side effects that could hit me. I am worried about the Paranoia and Depression. I have a history with depression. I can't find anthing to say how common thoes side effects are. I have no one that can stay home with me and the kids while I get that done. Hubby can't take off from work MIL HAS to work and I don't trust my mom with my kids alone.. I just don't know what to do right now. I guess I have to sit down and have a long talk with my hubby and we need to figure out what to do.. Thanks for letting me vent.

Sue, for years I was on Celexa for only 3 - 10 days a month in order to deal with my extreme PMS. This is one antidepressant that you can take and feel better from within 24 hrs. Additionally, if you only take it for a short period, there are no withdrawal effects from using it.
Eventually I went on Celexa full-time, when they were trying to figure out if it would help with my fatigue level. It didn't, and in fact I realized it made it worse when I finally weaned off. I also realized that it caused a number of other side-effects when I used it for a longer period; tinnitus, lack of libido, weight gain, etc., so if I ever had to use antidepressants full-time, I don't think Celexa is for me. Anyway . . . I really just wanted to say that short-term use might be handy, if things get tense for a few days ... The fear of the unknown is probably the worst thing, especially for the first several years with this disease. Usually your imagination is worse then reality though, and worrying is not good . . . so try to take one day at a time. MS is a disease that effects the whole family. Plan for the worst, and hope for the best. Talk to your husband. Cherie

Sue,
The right antidepressant for you would be a dream! Everyone is different! I lucked up with the one I'm on.... I'm one of those unlucky ones who doesn't react to steroids really well....ugh! But when it is time, I just ask the doc "ARE YOU SURE???? I really REALLY NEED them?" the answer of course is yes and I take them....but boy do I not like it! My family put me in a cage last time (I'm joking people....joking....) Seriously, I get pretty bad... Talk to your doc about your concerns.... See the thread James started today about his ON....some of the posts might help you mentally. Peace. |

When i am put on meds I am always put on Prozac. I hate the way it makes me feel. I feel (and have been told) that I have no creative side, photography, playing with playdoh, coloring with the kids goes right out the window. I also feel withdrawn. Well I feel worse. I ahve told the docs that have put me on it but they tell me it just takes a while to get the side affects out of your system. I was on the for 4 years I think that they would have gone away by then. I don't know.
Thank you all for your help

Perhaps something like zoloft instead? Prozac and Zoloft affect the same chemical in the brain, but in different ways. Not all ADs are created equal, which can cause so much fun trying to find the right one.
Hope you feel better soon.
