Default Limbo check in 2/20

Hi gang!

Still cold here - low 20's creeping up to low 40's by Monday. That is gonna feel like a heat wave. Can't wait. Hope it stays there.

Tomorrow I go for my Facet joint shots. I have to try to call them and see if they got my hip x ray report. I forgot to ask when they caled to remind me of my appt.

The hip thing has been going on, coming and going, since '03. So I figure it's got to be a nerve thing. If anything else was wrong with it, it probably eould not go away like it does. But who knows? At any rate, *it* has now spread to my knee. Isn't that nice? LOL.

Not looking forward to the needles, but the test shots helped - how cool was that, using a blow dryer! Picking up the teapot, full!

A couple of sore neck days is well worth that if I can have a few months of my arms not being so achy and wimpy.

Otherwise it's business as usual for me.

So what's new for the rest of my island friends?

OMG, it's Wednesday all ready? My goodness where does my time go.
Well not much going on with me other than waiting to hear from the eye Dr. I haven't sleep much in over a week, I might get 4-5 hours sleep (not consecutive hours).

All 7 kids and DH are sick, been sick since Sunday. So why have I not catch it, odd I always get everything the kids bring home and sometimes twice.

The house keeper has been here since Saturday (she comes Mon-Sat, every day), don't get me wrong about complaining that someone hasn't been buy to clean my house, I just can't physical do it all my self. So with all 7 kids being home and me not sleeping and being too exhausted to do much it looks like a tornado when thought here.

BGB The facet joint shots will only help the arms, not the hips? Not that that isn't wonderful all by itself but I'm just trying to get clear, here.

Wish could move that pain back out of the knees and hips and outta the door, BGB, would be sending you tons of them on a steady, therapeutic basis.

momX don't know what to say, other than hope your re-test at the ophtholmologists helps somehow and that that bug that's bitten the rest of your family just leaves you alone!

Lots of s to you too.

Oh, and me, .

It's been almost 2 years now (3 days short of) since bad periods started happening more often, lasting longer, and when over, leaving me at a new "worse" level than before.

I'm into a second "episode" since January, and although it isn't as bad as that one was, it includes more new goodies in my formally "good" right leg. BAH humbug!

Last week I learned how to use a scooter. When I go to the Commissary tomorrow, I will be dressed to the nines and ready for my "throne on wheels. " I also ordered 2 canes after a miserable trip up and down our very short driveway going to get our mail....an elegant and a feisty cane.

I had the SSEP last week, messages from right leg traveled to brain in an appropriate amt. of time. The left leg slowed down between brainstem and brain so at least we know the damage isn't due to slipped discs.

This was my 3rd EP, the VEP was 134 in my ON eye and my BAER was abnormal as well. Add 5 O bands, and every "rule out" in the book, and hubby and I figure there is enough for the pathologist to work with when it is time for an autopsy on me, and he promised to read me the report.

Till then, I like you folks, and I think I'm just gonna buy a piece of land here on the island and settle in for the duration....

Cabana boys, good company, soon a celebrated author in our midst ...BGB...
what more could a girl ask for?

Momx7 - I'm glad to hear you have a housekeeper. (most people, i'd just be envious, lol) Gives you more time to focus on you and the kiddies.

Sorry to hear they're all sick again. Weather should break soon, maybe the germs will go on vacation - I hope so!

Tante - the FJIs will only help my arm/shoulder neck pain.

but I'm hoping once the pain doc has an idea why my hip/leg hurts, he'll do something about that. Is there a patron Saint of chronic pain lol? I need their medal.

I'd think your results would get you dx'd by the right neuro - but who am I? When I'm famous (from your lips to god's ears, friend ) I'll pull some strings.

And it'll be before you require an autopsy, and before I do.

Hope that scooter has a double seat, you'll need to bring that cute cabana boy with you, no?

Hello everyone...isn't this cold weather delightful? NOT!

BGB...I wish you could get rid of all the pain. I have no cartilage in the left sacroiliac joint, and it causes me occasional pain. I've been told nothing can be done about it. I wonder if this might be causing your hip pain...
I know that my knees ache when I'm walking weird to protect the hip.

Mx7...hope that you can get some rest as the kiddies get better. It's not easy being a mom who doesn't feel well taking care of others who are sick.

Tante, I am shocked that you aren't dxd yet, with all that you're exhibiting. What does it take for some drs to dx this disease? Take care of yourself.

I fell going up the stairs this morning. I blamed it on my slippers, but I've been in denial about having difficulty picking both feet up when I walk the last few days. I'm trying hard to deny that anything's wrong.
But at core class today, my balance was off. The instructor kept asking if I was okay. She could see it.
I want to be better. Clear and simple. I don't want to be on this island, I don't want to be dxd, I want to be well. Period.

Have a great week, everyone, and keep smilin'

Could I make a request?? That we ALL use a larger font. What we start with is just too small, ok?

Brain, sorry bout your hip. Is your lower back a mess? I remember when my hip was "out" and my chiro kept saying NO, its your lower back that is out which throws your hip out. I would argue back and then realized he's the expert, duh!!! ANd... he was right. I cannot remember where in your spine your syr..gy problem is. Sorry I cannot remember how to spell it much less SAY it.

I was just about to say I am ok, and for the most part I am. But this week,or of late, I am having problems with my lungs. I see the Rheumy on this Friday and he thinks I have sarcoidosis involving the lungs. I just cannot get my lungs to expand it seems. I breathe so shallow that I even stop breathing while awake!!!

I DO have sleep apnea and this "other" neuro truly beleives that I have narcolepsy. Its confusing but I trust him. He was even excited as he told me, now that I have some evidence I know I can treat you. Who figured this docs would be confused and frustrated???

So off to yet another sleep study to measure what I need for my Cpap/?
ANd then another will be ordered to see how I breathe etc during the daytime. This is ALL so expensive for my copay.

But I would be SO HAPPY if we could see the GRASS and get INTO The 20's Brain!!! LOL

Take care and know that I do think and care for each of you,

JAN

hey all,

Nice to see the limbo crew...maybe someday I will win the record fro most years in limbo..hahhaaaa

housekeeper...I need one of those...cant afford to, but with working 40 hours and five kids...even though they do lots of chores...the deeper clean doesnt get done often enough..and the clutter ahhhhh

anyhow..me just hanging in here, no new tests..no neuro, just taking my sxs as they come....resting as much as I can fit in, trying to get exercise..helps with the fatigue, dont know, guess when I start getting really bad..I will figure something out..just dont know at this point who to see other than pcp....oh well!!

For now just deal with these sxs, I have for many many years,
Seen the eclipse last night that was beautiful...
I travel soon for work...for a week of classes...fly out to Minneapolis..

hugss all, sarah
(wow picked a size and then after posted realized a bit big...but hey red is wonderful

Default Hi All!

Well; here I am again a day late and a dollar short!

Not much new around here. My Mother is with us every year from Nov 1st-May 1st since my sister in Iowa and I have split custody of her.

We have had cloudy skies and rain yesterday and it most likely will rain again tonight which we don't care for the rain but good for the crops.

That is an old saying we always said in the Midwest but out here we just have palms and cacti so those are our "crops".

We noticed daffodills are up about 3" now so a good sign. Everything else looks pretty good and the cacti in our "yard" are looking greener in spots.

We were looking out the windows this morning and all the mountains surrounding us have snow on them! Better up there than down here.

I have had the achey breakys the last few days so am blaming it on the humidity since it is normally so dry here.

Mom, Bill and I had our flu shots but lots of virus' going around now so hoping none of us "catch" any of those nasties.

I baked apple crunch yesterday and was nice to have the oven on to warm up the house and smells good too.

I have to go weigh in for TOPS tomorrow so I KNOW I will have another gain... oh well; it was worth every bite too so there!!

Debbie - A little denial is a good thing, I think. Keeps you looking for obvious reasons for your problems, and not looking for *sx* if that makes sense.

Do try to keep track of this stuff though, because that can help you figure it out sooner.

Jan - Good luck with the sleep study. Talk to the doc about the cost on the CPap equipment and see if they can help you with the cost, if you need it. No harm in asking, and somethimes they know who to call to get assistance with that.

Keep us posted, okay?

I had my whole back MRId, my lumbar was fine then. The doc wants to see that report, and maybe do an MRI on the hip. The hip x ray showed nothing. He poked all over and said "You'd expect lower back tender points, sciatica. You have none of that that I can find. And none in the right leg, which is not at all normal. I still think it's the syrinx or something *nerve*."

I go back next week again for more neck shots, I'll bring the lumbar report, and if he wants a hip MRI I'll do that. I told him I doubt there's anything wrong though.

Sarah - you'd think all those kids AND working would count as exercise...

I didn't have the time or energy when I was working with 2 kids and not sick.

Janie - I'd love to pix of your yard. One of my most prized specimens is my prickly pear, the only cactus that grows outside in Ohio. It's not coming around yet - usually it perks up about Mother's Day. But it's about 4-5 yrs old and growing pretty nice. People flip when they see that growing here.
