Default steroid difference?

My husband and I were watching a show about steroid use last night.

Since our daughter is often on steroids, he asked me if there was a difference in the type of steroids our daughter takes for her hearing loss and the steroids that athletes take for body building or sports.

I had been wondering the same thing.

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference?

Yes, there is a difference.

I asked the same thing the first time I was given them. The nurse said the ones they take are called anabolic (sp?) steroids to basically bulk up muscle tissue.

Yup, anabolic (builds up) vs. catabolic (breaks down)
