Question Question for Beta users

Do you ever break out with a rash on your face when you take your shot? Jim has a red pimple like rash on his face after he takes his shot. He has experienced facial rashes before so this isn't new. However, we are noticing it comes back after his shots. Now we are wondering if it's an interferon thing. He took Avonex prior to Beta.

This past week while we were at my mom's he didn't take his Beta and now that we are back and on schedule the rash is back as well. Anyone have this happen to them?

UPDATE: Never mind. I spoke with Jim's doctor and this is an allergic reaction to the Beta. He said to take a benadryl and 50mgs of aspirin 30 minutes prior to injection. Thanks to anyone who would have answered!

Thanks Robin! We spoke with Jim's doctor today and checked the Beta site. It is a minor reaction to the shot. Yippie for Jim! We are supposed to take Benadryl and aspirin before the shot from now on.

No, he's been on Beta for a year. However, this type of allergic reaction can pop up at any time. Jim said 'that figures." lol
