Default March - Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month

"Solve the MyStery - Cure Multiple Sclerosis"
________________________________________
Many people on the Boards here probably remember the energy and effort that was put into creating the "Solve the MyStery - Cure Multiple Sclerosis" magnet that came to be in 2005.

We did our best to contact NMSS chapters across the country, and also took it to the National level, to headquarters in CO and NY, to see if the National Society would take on our magnet and slogan - both voted for on the MS World Boards - as THE magnet and slogan for MS Awareness. Alas, it was not to be.

Many people have still been trying to get this very special car magnet, but it has long since ceased production, and those of us with the magnets that came out of this effort hold them true and dear to our hearts.

With this in mind and March being MS Awareness month I have made up postcards that continue with our original slogan, "Solve the MyStery - Cure Multiple Sclerosis."

I am personally making and sending these postcards to as many people as I know, because “many eyes see postcards!" Everyone glances down at a postcard......! Hopefully these postcards will heighten awareness for MS which seems to not get the recognition or funds that it should.

If anyone would like postcards, please email me at the address in my profile and let me know how many you would like.

*****THESE POSTCARDS ARE FREE*****

Just ask, and I will send them to you! I will incur the cost of producing and shipping these postcards to you, in the hopes that we can get as many postcards under as many sets of eyes as possible during the month of March, but I don't see why they couldn't be sent at ANY time!!

This is NOT a money making business, it’s just a way to get more and more people across the country helping to raise awareness for MS.

Let's keep the fun and positive energy that was created by the original car magnets and slogan alive!!

Solve the MyStery - Cure Multiple Sclerosis!

Please - let's see what we can do - again!!
Thanks!

Good idea Sunbeam! I loved my magnet. It finally rotted off my car (guess you're supposed to move them around from time to time) This sounds like a really neat project.

Thanks Greta,

It's a project started less than a week ago, and I've now already sent out 176 postcards - some to friends, others to people on the message boards who have requested them.

We're trying to have the postcards "hit' in time for next week's "Awareness Week" but also try to keep them going throughout March, and that will lead up to the Walks that I believe begin in April.

I'm going to post a separate thread about the magnets..........

Hi Sunbeam,

I looked in your profile to see if there was some info about you but there wasn't anything. . . . . maybe if you could offer a little info about yourself and your struggle with MS others would feel comfortable sharing their information with you. I think you have a good idea - I'm just leary of giving out my personal information to someone I'm not familiar with.

good point, herekitty!
...many know sunbeam from msw... she's been a member for a good long time... but you're right, not everyone knows she's not a spy!

these postcards are her own making and giving tho....

i've been making and mailing postcards for a couple of weeks now... to celebrate National MS Awareness & Education Month.

solve the mystery is catchy slogan... i think what makes it extra special is that it was created by msers and clearly says WE're looking for a cure!

if anyone has a link to awareness items like these postcards, magnets, etc... please email them to me! we want to give them away!

but the STM postcards are sunbeams... and i'm so grateful to her for donating so many... i think she's mailed out and donated several hundred just herself....

a commendable effort!!
