Becky! Sorry I'm late in knowing about your surgery. Glad it went alright.

For those of you that have never played against Becky21 in the old game room, she is FAST! No way could I ever keep up with her!

:OuttaHere: WHATAWOMAN!

Sending comforting thoughts and prayers your way. Hope you recover quickly.

Becky, I was going to call you to find out when you were scheduled to have the procedure done. I'm sorry I was late, but so relieved that it went well. When you feel better I'll give you a call. In the meantime, you remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm going to try to call Becky today. I wanted to give her a couple of days to heal. I'll update as soon as I speak with her.

You all have touched Becky so much by your support and kindness.

Here is her email to me today:

WOW, I looked at the thread and am so touched by all the support from my buds on NT. It is so sweet that so many people posted such sweet words. Thank you so much for posting that thread. I will answer it when I feel a little bit better.

I slept a little better last night but it's hard to stay on my left side all night. I took the sling off and can use my right arm from the elbow down without pain. The pacemaker area is still swollen and bruised from my collar bone, under my arm pit to my chest. It sure is sore for such a little thing. It feels just as bad as it did when I had it put in originally in 1996. I know what not to do this time.

Just wanted to let you know I'm doing great. Maybe not quite great but very very good. lol

Love & hugs,
Bff Becky

Hi Everyone!!!:)

I am overwhelmed by all your prayers and support.:grouphug: Thank you all so much.:grouphug:

I am on the mend now and over the strong pain and almost all of the swelling is gone. It is now dull bruising pain and that's great.:) I am not supposed to do anything strenuous or lift my right arm above the shoulder for 3 weeks. I am able to use my right arm from the elbow down so I can type and do a few things. The best thing for me is to keep it still because I get some pretty strong muscle spasms if I do too much.

The pacemaker is implanted on my right side, just below the collar bone, above the right breast, in that very thin skin area so it can't heal if there is any pulling or pressure. I am bruised beyond belief and it looks a lot worse than it feels. There is no way I can use my cane since I use my right arm to keep my balance.

I go back to the Surgeon for my follow up, Medtronic check, and Holter Moniter on the 25th. If all goes well, he will release me back to my Cardiologist. My Dad is going to take me.

I just took my first full body shower and I feel so good. That sponge bath stuff is just insane.:o It was really funny trying to do everything with my left hand. I have flat hair but it sure smells good. LOL

I'm going to nap but thought I would let you all know how much it means to me to have so many wonderful friends. I will be back on the board when I can move my arm better. See you all soon.

Love & Hugs to All Of My Friends:grouphug:

Sandy/BFF/GBA----Thank you so much for posting this for me.

So glad to hear you're feeling much better. Isn't it funny how we miss the simplest things like showers and being able to use a cane when we find ourselves unable to? I hope you continue to get better and stronger each day.
