Tkrik,

I think Cherie's got it!!

Parking near the store! How could I forget! The ONLY store, I ever have trouble finding a blue spot is Wal-mart...my son decided that all handicapped people shop at Wallie World!!! LOL

Today I realized that because of MS I finally can say no to people, mean it and not feel the least bit guilty!

Pollyanna Bird - maybe there's a book in here somewhere -

Yes a few good things - using handicapped spaces - being able to retire before 65 and enjoy the entire day - not just a glimpse of sun in the AM and then driving home in the dark - being able to discuss symptoms, etc with people who understand on this forum - maybe helping someone we don't know to live their life in a more positive way - joking around on some of our posts to smile a bit - the ability to nudge things off the top shelf in the grocery store with a cane - not having to shovel this winter - using my golf cart in the summer - if the dog lets me that is -

Cherie - your really did a good job pointing out all the benefits. LOL. I forgot those.

Bird - She does have it and is doing great!

Because of MS I have learned that the brain can do amazing things.

Because of MS I have leaned to accept and enjoy my naps as they are vital to my functioning. (I used to get so mad at the fatigue.)

Because of MS I am finding easier ways to get things done, conserving energy, and finding some get done faster.

Cherie,
When I was a mom and homemaker scrimping and saving, I could always be first at the clearance sales and get the best pickings. I miss that now that I work. I look forward to it again when I retire. I'm a good bargain hunter. ;)

I've finally learned to say no to people as well. I feel a little bit guilty because when they see me I still look good so why do I have to make lame excuses for why I can't do things?

Ewi,

Just don't feel guilty! We give you permission to not be guilty!!!

Another plus!

When the kids lose a ball under a car, I give them my cane and tell them to get it out!!!

I even stopped a runaway check the other day in the wind with my cane!

KarenMarie 03-23-2008 07:33 PM

Now that's a good one Bird - also canes are good for giving mild nudges to the idiot's ankle that tries to cut you off in the grocery line -

the Bird 03-23-2008 07:36 PM

LOL and I should of had one when the kids were really little and they were just out of reach for punishment!!!LOL

I hope you don't mind me joining in here... no ms diagnosed but many symptoms.

But if it weren't for me getting injured with resulting RSD...

I would never have met my two best friends.

I would never have slowed down and noticed the beauty in little things.

I would never have found all of you!!!
