Default Im freakin out about this test

Im really freaking about this stupid test tomorrow. (CT w/contrast)
heres the stupid part....Im not worried about what it might show.
Im worried about drinking the Barium & getting the iv contrast. I have an allergic reaction to everything!!!!!! I had an MRI w/ contrast and had an allergic reaction.
I told the imaging place this and they said that I would be given a benadryl. I thought scr*w the benadryl...you better have a doctor standing by!!!!

Am I being totally stupid about this????

Sorry about your anxiety. Well-founded, considering your allergies. Hope everything goes smoothly for you, MM.

I'd be worried also.

Remind them of your concerns, and take the benadryl.

They do take the possibility of allergic reactions quite seriously so I would expect that they'll have, at hand, all that is needed to counter a reaction, and quickly.

Tests are bad enough, extra worries....grrrrr.

Hoping all goes well.

The others are right and they should have all that stuff ready for you. Take the benedryl and talk to them again once you get there about sensitivities you have to meds.

i'm glad they didn't use the contrast.
the answer isn't benadryl.
the answer is to not give a patient something that causes an allergic reaction.

hope the results come up + for you.

I'm glad you didn't take the contrast too....

I'm starting to think we should run everything by NurseNancy first! She is so levelheaded and gives great advice!

I'm REALLY glad you didn't do the contrast...
