Glad you are getting some much-needed sleep. Sleep deprivation (and pain) add considerable complications to our health problems, at least for me.

I avoid medications too, unless there is no other choice. Even then I can't tolerate most.

Hope the doc appt goes well, and you start to get some solutions.

Thanks Lady :)

I'm the type that wouldn't take an aspirn up until my 30s. I just want to have no drugs. I hate them!!! They are nice when they fix you up, but at some point you have to fix the problem! I guess I chose the wrong spine doctor to begin with...I had no idea. Glad I got it worked out now. Maybe by summer I'll be fixed :)

One Neuro said there's nothing wrong with you. Another said stay off the internet. When I mentioned symptoms of MS he said one said you don't want MS because the only treatment is worse than the disease.

My last Neuro was just staring at me as if I was wacko! He just kept me medicated and not trying to find out the reason for my symptoms just treated them and not me. As I was leaving his office I asked for a final bill to be sent and I finally found a Neuro who listened.

She looked at ALL my MRI films and went over them with DH and I and read other reports. She finally said since all your spinal taps (5) didn't show anything I can't diagnose MS even though you fit the criteria.

She did diagnose me with CIS (Clinically Isolated Symptoms) which is a pre cursor for MS. At last a diagnosis! It took about 10 years several Doctors and seven Neuros to get an answer.

People in "limbo" know how it is because all we ask for is an answer and if the Doctor doesn't know they should say so and refer to someone who can help.

I have my answer. I feel better knowing.

My Neuro said the same thing to me! "Stay off the Internet, you do not want MS" I told him all of my symptoms which include the Numbness and electrical pain in fingers of my Left Hand that I was there to see him for. He did the Nerve Conductive tests which he said were normal and he ordered a MRI of my neck which was also normal. I have had this numbness and pins & needles along with weakness in this hand since Feb this year. I have numbness in both feet at my toes, my eysite has worsened going from basic reading glasses to Tri-Focals in the last 3 yrs. I have Chronic Pain and have been taking Hydrocodone & Oxy since 2005 since the Dr's are unable to stop the pain in my Left Rib Area. I have had 2 surgeries on my left arm;Rotater Cuff & Cubital in 2006. I have had bladder issues for the last 6 yrs, the pain & pressure is releaved by the Hydrocodone. I have seen a specialist for the Bladder problems because at one time I had blood in my urine. I also have numbness a tingling feeling at the back of my head. The Neuro Dr ordered a Brain Scan and Lupas tests, both came back OK. The Dr said "You do not have MS-Yet" what ever that means. My Sister has MS & Lupas & my Aunt has MS so it does run in the family. The Neuro Dr put me on Lyrica and Cymbalta but the Cymbalta makes my stomach very upset and even though I took it at night I was unable to sleep even with Ambien CR. I have to have Ambien to sleep at night, I did have some nights I could sleep without but since I have had this pain in my hand I need the Ambien because the pain seems worse at night. I would not have even thought having MS if I had not looked at Web Md. I was just trying to figure out what was wrong with my hand, MS was an option and when I saw all of the symptoms I realized that I had so many of them. Because I have seen different Dr's at different times my thought was maybe one of the Dr's would have looked for MS sooner if they had looked at the information from each Dr. I really do not understand why I have this pain in my hand, I really wish it could be diagnosed and just given a treatment plan. I am really tired of Dr's just giving me Meds when they don't know what else to do. I would love to find a Dr like the TV Dr House- he would never give up trying to find the answer. I anyone else has simular problems, please advise. Thanks...GOD BLESS
