Welcome to the NT MS forum BT. So nice to meet you.

I'm sorry for your DX, but glad you found the best place to talk about it....right here at Neurotalk.

Hello and Welcome!

Give it time to settle in. I lived in 'denial' for 7 years myself. Give yourself time to absorb your DX. For me, I felt 'validated' once I had my dx this past October. I was able to say, I wasn't Lazy, I wasn't anything but just myself with a horrible illness. Life is funny that ways, I guess.

Haven't read everyone else - but yes!! you are so normal!!

I was dx'd in 2001 and the giant concrete block of fear hung over my head for 2 years. I worried that having trouble going up the stairs was a symptom (nope - I was just fat!), I imagined that I was having weird sensory issues, but it turns out that I had sat in some mortar while tiling my bathroom! I'm a worrywort - I can imagine a symptom like noone else!!

Good news is that it does go away! It did when I started hanging out on Message boards and talking to other people. Once I saw lots of people living well despite MS, the fear started receding. A counselor helped a lot too.

Don't fret, you'll get there. And despite getting a stinky dx, you've now got a whole new group of friends

I don't think I have welcomed you yet. So welcome!

I forget that I have MS even though I have sx daily....it has just become part of who I am...then sometimes it reminds me (like walking across a grassy field w/ low heels on...ugly)

hello and welcome, you will find helpful people here, and they are actually really nice people too just kidding

always ask if you dont know, or else you will never have that answer.

good luck in this, yes its a hand full and a mind full, dont stress over it all, all at once. yes easier said that done, but I wish I was able to do this as it was advice given to me at first. again welcome to the club
