Default Rituxan Fails PPMS Trial

This is very bad news for those of us suffering from primary progressive.

I agree with Snoopy, sorry's not enough, but, I am so sorry.

What's next on the agenda for PPMS? Anything?

Geez, 96 weeks later . . . that's really bad news.

Marc-
"How disappointing" just doesn't seem adequate. I was so looking forward to finally hearing about something that truly worked for PPMS. I'll keep my fingers crossed that someone will come up with something soon.

Same boat as you Marc, that was the latest one the neuro hit me with last visit. My question was "does it work" they are really excited about it, cool! call me when you get something that is proven to work.

Unfortunately, there are no other drugs currently being trialed for PPMS. For PPMSers, Rituxan was our great hope. None of the already approved drugs has proven effective in treating primary progressive, so this really leaves us up the proverbial creek.

Our best hope now is that stem cell research picks up steam, and that methods are devised to help repair our damaged nervous systems. It does not look like we are going to get help on the pharmaceutical front...

Rituxan's failure is really a devastating blow...

I read that Marc and was really disappointed.

Is there anything else in the pipeline at all that you are aware of?

It's hard to believe they let the trial go on as long as it did if Rituxan didn't help.

Very disappointing.
